UBS suspends four more traders in forex probe






(Reuters) - UBS AG has suspended four more of its traders in the wake of a global investigation into collusion and manipulation by big dealers in the foreign exchange market, Bloomberg News reported on Wednesday.

I think what’s most interesting about this story is that when we look at an airplane we tend to see a physical thing. We see airfoils, materials, and hard sciences animated and airborne, but a growing proportion of the “thingness” of these machines is happening in software — software that makes it fly and software that connects it with all the other things on the battlefield, to share information and fight as one organism.

Bitcoin Breaks Out, Touches $590

Btc hit a new multiday high yesterday after breaking out of the two day consolidation. Prices broke the $575 resistance level and proceeded to rally all the way up to $590 before retracing. The move down hit a low of $569.11, from here BTC/USD gained some ground is now trading at $578.80 on BTC-E. Prices per bitcoin are quoted at $581 on rival exchange BitStamp.

India’s forex reserves jump by $1.83 billion

India’s foreign exchange (forex) reserves rose by $1.83 billion to $297.28 billion for the week ended March 14, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) data showed.

This is the third consecutive week of increase in the country’s forex reserves as overseas investors poured in money in local bonds and stock markets.

According to the RBI’s weekly statistical supplement, foreign currency assets, the biggest component of the forex reserves, jumped by $1.84 billion to $269.81 billion.

Australia regulators to probe forex market

Australian regulators are launching a probe into the country’s $168bn foreign exchange market, as the net widens in the sprawling international investigations into allegations of price-rigging by banks and currency traders.

Australia became the latest country to get involved in the fast-expanding probes which have already engulfed more than a dozen regulators and at least 15 banks across the US, Europe and Asia.
