I think - this is the latest version of ZUP indicator from Nen : ZUP_v133 indicator

    Improvements:
    • algorithm of standard zigzag was changed
    • ZigZag_new_nen6 zigzag indicator was changed to ZigZag_nen

And this is zigzag indicator recommended by Nen (and improved by him), and for now (according to Nen) - this is only one correct zigzag which may be recommended to be used for trading systems and for ZUP for example.

Please find ZUP_v115 which we can use for Andrews Pitchfork (default settings).

    Harmonic Trading-eurusd-h1-alpari-nz-limited-andrewspitchfork.png

And ZUP_v125 to be used for searching the patterns (by default settings of the indicator too).

    Hi Newdigital,

Thank you for opening this thread and posting the ZUP indicators and several great images.

I would like to use ZUP indicator but I have not found a description about the meaning of the comments, lines and figures, etc. on the chart. So, I have many questions about the practical usage, a part of them are written below. Attached is an image to illustrate my questions

    Harmonic Trading-eyivoqc.png

    The questions:

What do the comments in the upper left corner of the indicator mean?

    The upper row
    “MN V 122 0.753 | W1 -|- 156 0.589 | D1 /\ 105 0.873 | “ etc. and for the current time frame "H4 4.62% | 11 / 89 / 5 / 3 / APs-3"
    I guess the meaning:
Monthly time frame is in downtrend but what is the meaning of 122 and 0.753?
Weekly time frame is sideways but what are the figures?
    Etc.
And for the current time frame:
    What is 4.62% for? What does that "11 / 89 / 5 / 3 / APs-3" mean?

    The second row:
“It is found 8 patterns” – I guess there are 8 different ABCD patterns recognized on the current time frame. Anyway, what are the state of these patterns? Are they open, I mean are they prospective patterns for future trading, or some of them are finished?

    “For pattern N1 – “ Is it pattern Nr.1?
    “Bearish AB=CD [1.128*0.886] “ - This is unambiguous.
“(AB) = 438 C=108” - I think the AB leg is 438 and the BC leg is 108. OK. What are the measurement units? As far as I can measure using the cross hair tool in MT4, these figures do not mean the pip distance nor the number of bars.

Then we can go further to the popup windows and lines.
The popup hint on the image tells the same coordinates for the Green line. I assume this Green line is the AB leg. Am I right?
In the popup window, what does "1_11Triangle3" mean?

    Regards,

    Chrisstoff

    Hi Chrisstoff,

As you know - I am not professional with patterns and with ZUP so I have no idea what is written on the top left corder of the chart. I understand about patterns (prospective to trade, or finished) just looking on the chart/price.

I went to onix forum now and asked Poruchik (he is friend of Nen and he is admin of onix forum) to explain it. I hope he is having the time to make few posts on this thread for us.

Just for example - how I understand it : this pattern is prospective (forming/developing/unfinished) - bullish as it is written on the chart by ZUP

It is true because I made this image on Friday, USDJPY price on this image was 96.29 and for (on Moday) it is around 96.70

And I just attached ZUP_v125 to same pair (USDJPY) and I see the other developing (prospective/forming) pattern but for bearish/downtrend. As I understand - this downtrend was not started yet :

    Hi Newdigital,

Thank you for your help. Yes, as far as I can assume, Poruchik knows everything about the settings and usage of ZUP indicators, so he is probably the best expert to answer any questions that can emerge concerning ZUP. Unfortunately, I do not speak Russian and therefore I cannot take part in Onix forum's work...
    Thanks again,

    Chrisstoff

    The Gartley Pattern :

The Gartley Pattern The Gartley pattern was outlined by H.M. Gartley in his book Profits in the Stock Market, published in 1935. Although the pattern is named "The Gartley," the book did not discuss specific Fibonacci retracements! It was not until "The Harmonic Trader" was released that the specific retracements of the B point at a .618 and the D point at a .786 were assigned to the pattern. There are others who have assigned Fibonacci retracements to this framework. However, they use a variety of Fibonacci numbers at the B and D points. Despite these variations, the Fibonacci retracements that yield the most reliable reversals are the .618 at the B point and the .786 at the D point. Furthermore, the pattern should possess a distinct AB=CD pattern that converges in the same area as the 0.786 XA retracement and the BC projection (either 1.27 or 1.618). The most critical aspect of the Gartley is the B point retracement, which must be at a 0.618 of the XA leg. Read more about the pattern at this link: The Great Gartley Controversy.
