old ex4 files will work with build 600. But if you compile mql5 source code with new 600 build so - yes - indicator should be should be changed.

The changing process is going on (Igorad is doing it, and I think - all indicators/EAs will be changed - but it takes time sorry). Before this changing - you can use old ex4 file. How to use? Watch this video

This new release of mt4 is a total garbage, there where hundred of things to improved... the last was the mq4 language. Mine EAs ar not working anymore. Do some knows if they will put add the multi core, multi thread 64 bit metatester to mt4? Dont you think is the most important improvment?

newdigital you are a moderator in the mql sites can you share something?

As I know - old ex4 files are working with new build. But if you compile your source codes of the EAs with new build to create new ex4 so it will stop working (many of them).

So, I am suggesting to make backup of all important indicators and EAs (ex4 files) which were compiled with old build 509 for example, because all of them will work with new builds.

I did not move anything to build 600 (not indicators, not EAs) because IBFX is still on 509, and Alpari is not having 600. But if the brokers will upgrade MT4 to 600 so I will do the following :

- I will make backup of all my indicators and EAs (ex4 files only) and save them in separated place on PC
- upgrade MT4 to 600
- place those ex4 files in new folders of MT4 new build (Eas and indicators are located in new folders in build 600)
- work/trade as before with those ex4
- ask Igorad to upgrade source codes of indicators and EAs in easy going way (because old ex4 will work with 600 and above for the long time).

So, do you have ex4 files from build 509? I mean: you compiled your indicators/EAs using 509 build to receive ex4 files ... so save those files in any place of your PC. because build 600 and above may use those ex4 files ... do not compile EAs/indicators using build 600 to get new ex4 files.

yes, I already done that, the complete backup is the only solution, the EX4 are working, but till when? and any news about the metatester?

I hope the next builds will be better ... besides, some fixing of source codes will be necessary in the near future (if we want to compile the sources with new MetaEditor) as MT4 is going to be closer to MT5 for example ...

I am mainly moderator for mql5 forums (for Metatrader 5).

As to mql4 forum so I can just delete spam as I am not a coder sorry.

Hi stawbale,

the main problem is that the following rule don't work in the MT4 PSAR:

Never move the SAR into the previous day’s range or today’s range. More specifically, if the current position is long (short), never move tomorrow’s SAR above (below) the previous day’s low (high) or today’s low (high). If tomorrow’s SAR is calculated to be above (below) the previous day’s low (high) or today’s low (high), then use the lower low (higher high) between today and the previous day as the new SAR. Make the next day’s calculations based upon this SAR.
