A community board in New York City has voted against a proposal to rename the famed intersection pictured on the cover of the Beastie Boys' album Paul's Boutique. The intersection is in the Lower East Side area of Manhattan, and the proposal would have seen the intersection renamed in the group's honor.

Miranda Lambert has announced her new single "Automatic," which will be featured on her forthcoming fifth studio album. The single, which she wrote with Nicolle Galyon and Natalie Hemby, will be officially be released to radio on Wednesday, February 5. She says that the song was inspired by her own life.

According to drummer Chad Smith, Bruno Mars asked the Red Hot Chili Peppers to perform with him during halftime of Super Bowl XLVIII. "The Super Bowl people asked (Mars) if he would like to have a special guest, and he said, 'Yeah, I'd like to have the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I'm a big fan' - unbeknownst to us," Smith told Billboard.

After accusing Pharrell of stealing a Franz Ferdinand riff, the band's fronter, Alex Kapranos, has apologized to the producer. On Twitter Kapranos suggested that Pharrell had borrowed the riff for a song called "Can't Rely on You" which he produced for Paloma Faith: "Hey @Pharrell - I love your tunes. If you want to borrow a riff, just ask."

Bruce Springsteen's daughter Jessica is making headlines this week after she was named an equestrian ambassador for the luxury brand Gucci. She will serve as one of several riding ambassadors for the brand and joins Charlotte Casiraghi, of the royal family in Monaco. As part of her new position Gucci will design a custom line of riding wear specifically for Jessica.

KISS have signed a deal for a reality TV show about their football team. The show will follow rocker Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley as they learn to run their new arena football team, the Los Angeles KISS, which they bought last year. AMC has bought the rights to the show, which will debut this summer.

Journey vocalist Arnel Pineda has shot down rumors that he asked to leave the band. Pineda put to rest rampant rumors that he requested to quit next year in order to spend more time with his family. "I am as happy to be in Journey today as I was when I first joined the group," Pineda said in a statement.
