Mariah Carey has settled a lawsuit filed by a former nanny who claimed that she, along with her then-hubby Nick Cannon, treated her like a slave and forced her to work more than 100 hours a week without overtime. The nanny, Simonette DaCosta, claimed in the suit, which was filed in January of this year, that Carey and Cannon forced her to rotate between working shifts.

Janet Jackson has released a snippet of "No Sleeep," the lead single from her upcoming album. The cut, which is the first new material heard from her in seven years, is a steamy slow jam. Mastodon have released the music video for "Asleep in the Deep," a cut from the band's 2014 album, Once More Around the Sun. The vid centers on the journey of a cat, which wanders from home and is lured into a strange and hellish world. "This concept was birthed out of my curiosity about what a cat really does at night while we are asleep," Skinner said.

Taylor Swift has written an open letter to Apple Music, explaining her decision to keep her latest album, 1989, off of its streaming service once it launches at the end of June.
