    U.S. Pending Home Sales Fall 1.3% Amid Higher Mortgage Rates

    With higher mortgage interest rates slowing the U.S. housing market, the National Association of Realtors released a report on Wednesday showing that pending home sales fell by more than expected in the month of July. NAR said its pending home sales index fell 1.3 percent to 109.5 in July after dipping 0.4 percent to 110.9 in June. Economists had been expecting the index to drop by 1.0 percent.

    U.S. Economy Grew Faster Than Initially Estimated In Q2

    Reflecting revisions to imports and exports, the Commerce Department released a report on Thursday showing that the U.S. economy grew by more than previously estimated in the second quarter. The report said GDP increased by 2.5 percent in the second quarter, reflecting an upward revision from the advance estimate of 1.7 percent growth.
