Jesus Lizard will reunite for a short run of U.S. dates this December

After an eight-year hiatus, the Jesus Lizard will reunite for a short run of U.S. dates this December. It will be their first shows since 2009.

The six-date trek kicks off on December 8th and will hit major cities on the East and West Coasts, beginning with a headlining set in Nashville before wrapping with their previously announced appearance at Houston's Day for Night Festival the weekend of December 16th. Tickets for all gigs except Day for Night go on sale Friday.
The noise-rock crew originally came together in 1987 before calling it quits in 1999. During that time, they built a steady following thanks in part to a split single with Nirvana, which made it on to the U.K. singles chart, and a slot on Lollapalooza '95, which coincided with the band's signing to Capitol Records. They re-formed in 2008 for touring pegged to remastered reissues of the group's catalogue on indie-label Touch and Go, but didn't pursue any dates beyond 2009.

    Stereophonics Talk Bob Dylan Shout-Out

On the afternoon that Rolling Stone catches up with Stereophonics leader Kelly Jones, he's already had a full, and rather upsetting, day. The 43-year-old singer and guitarist is calling from his home in the Parsons Green district of London, where, just a few hours earlier, an explosion on a train at his local tube station injured several people. "I've got three daughters, and I dropped the oldest one, who's 12, at the tube," he says. "And she went off on the train and then 10 minutes later I come back and there's men with machine guns and helicopters flying over. So it's been kind of a weird, insane, surreal day, to be honest."

Jones is on the phone with Rolling Stone to speak about the Stereophonics' new album, Scream Above the Sounds, the Welsh band's 10th full-length overall. But several times throughout the conversation, he'll make reference to the day's alarming event – which, in its own way, also ties into some of the emotions captured on the record. "You know," he recalls, "we opened up for U2 on their Elevation Tour, when 9/11 happened, and the names of all these firemen would come on [the screen] and stuff like that. There's been a lot of stuff that has gone on in my professional life, and things happen and you don't talk about it and you bury it. And I guess you get to a certain point and maybe you start making life choices, you don't want to go here, you don't want to go there. And then you realize it doesn't really matter where you go, there's shit happening all the time. Today is a fucking perfect example of that. And I always try to write about the things I'm experiencing. "

Roger Daltrey's long-awaited memoir will arrive in bookstores in the fall of 2018

Roger Daltrey's long-awaited memoir will arrive in bookstores in the fall of 2018. "I've always resisted the urge to 'do the memoir,'" Daltrey said in a statement, "but now, finally, I feel I've enough perspective." The book will be released through Henry Holt and Co. in America and Blink Publishing in the United Kingdom.

"When you've spent more than half a century at the epicenter of a band like The Who, perspective can be a problem. Everything happened in the moment. One minute, I'm on the factory floor in Shepherd's Bush, the next, I'm headlining Woodstock."

Prophets of Rage in in New Video

Prophets of Rage – the supergroup/"elite task force of revolutionary musicians" featuring members of Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill – salute peaceful protest and slam gun culture with their gripping "Strength in Numbers" video.

The clip confronts racial tension embedded in the NFL national anthem debate, pairing shots of protesting players with vintage footage of actors in black face and Mickey Mouse working on a chain gang. The visual also touches on America's fetishization of violence, weaving in scenes from gun shows and people giddily firing weapons for fun.

Bleachers have been touring steadily in support of the new album, Gone Now; Tour Video

Bleachers have been touring steadily in support of the new album, Gone Now, which came out this past summer. The band will hit the road again in early November. To mark the occasion, they've released a "tour video" for "I Miss Those Days," showing Jack Antonoff singing and goofing around – throwing up his arms in a green room with his friends and urinating on a wall – all set to the song's spry horn section and springy rhythms.

On some of the headlining dates of the new tour, Antonoff will be supported by indie-pop artist Bishop Briggs and singer-songwriter Amy Shark, and on others, beginning next year, they will be supporting Pink in arenas around North America.
Additionally, the band will release an album version of their MTV Unplugged episode on November 10th. The band filmed the show, which featured appearances by Carly Rae Jepsen and Lorde, in Asbury Park, New Jersey's Stone Pony venue earlier this year. It is available to watch online, depending on your cable provider. The track list is below Bleachers' tour dates.

Meek Mill received a sentence of two to four years in prison

Meek Mill received a sentence of two to four years in prison after the Philadelphia rapper violated his probation with a pair of arrests earlier in the year.

The rapper, born Robert Williams, was arrested in March following a fight at a St. Louis airport, although those charges were dropped. Meek Mill also pleaded guilty to reckless driving in October after he posted videos of himself doing wheelies on a dirt bike in New York City.

Common Pleas Court Judge Genece E. Brinkley, who has previously overseen matters relating to Meek Mill's probation, deemed both arrests a violation of the rapper's probation before sentencing him to two to four years in a state prison, Philly.com reports.

    Hi

What a badass guitarist bet he's still rockin

    Source

NEW YORK (AP) — Malcolm Young, the rhythm guitarist and guiding force behind the bawdy hard rock
band AC/DC who helped create such head-banging anthems as "Highway to Hell," ''Hells Bells" and
"Back in Black," has died. He was 64.

AC/DC announced the death Saturday on their official Facebook page and website Saturday. A representative
for the band confirmed that the posts were true. The posts did not say when or where Young died, but said
the performer had been suffering from dementia. He was diagnosed in 2014.

"It is with deepest sorrow that we inform you of the death of Malcolm Young, beloved husband, father,
grandfather and brother. Malcolm had been suffering from Dementia for several years and passed away
peacefully with his family by his bedside," one of the posts read.

The family put out a statement posted on the band's website calling Young a "visionary who inspired many."
