More than 20 new titles were introduced yesterday during Nintendo’s first full-length Direct since February. For the first time since before the COVID-19 pandemic, fans were able to watch the event together at Nintendo NY, the brand’s New York City merchandise store. Nintendo’s rapid-fire announcements included some highly anticipated games.

Gaming is an expensive hobby, particularly when you can’t even buy the latest consoles without paying a scalper double MSRP. The games themselves are getting more spendy, too. After several publishers have gotten on board with $70 AAA pricing, Ubisoft has admitted it’s planning to do the same, starting with the upcoming release of Skull & Bones.

God of War Ragnarök, Santa Monica Studios' follow-up to 2018's critically acclaimed God of War, is set for release in November. It'll likely be among the biggest and best games of 2022.
Kratos and Atreus' sophomore adventure has the two traveling across the nine realms once again, to stop the events leading up to Ragnarök. They'll have to contend with Thor and the other Norse gods, who are out for revenge after Kratos killed multiple deities in the first game.

At GTC this morning Nvidia finally pulled the wraps off its much-anticipated Ada Lovelace architecture along with three GPUs based on it. Jensen unveiled the GeForce RTX 4090 GPU and two RTX 4080s based on different dies. This is a first for the company and something that’s sure to confuse gamers. One is allegedly based on the AD104 die, with the other using the even-smaller AD103 die. The headline feature is the difference in memory — 16GB versus 12GB — but they have vastly different specs.

Framework Computer The Chromebook uses the same design as the Windows model, built around a 13.5-inch 2,256x1,504-pixel display with a 3:2 aspect ratio tucked inside a milled aluminum housing. The base configuration has an Intel Core i5-1240P processor, 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 256GB NVMe PCIe SSD for storage. Those components are user-upgradeable with up to 64GB of memory and 1TB of storage.

At this week’s GTC, Nvidia unveiled its much-anticipated “Ada Lovelace” RTX 40-series GPUs. The keynote included several headline-grabbing claims. One of those claims was an “up to 4X” uplift in RTX performance in some games compared with the RTX 3090 Ti. This is made possible by the company’s latest iteration of Deep Learning Super Sampling, aka DLSS. Now on its third iteration, DLSS 3 is only coming to the RTX 40-series GPUs. This wasn’t specifically mentioned in the keynote, to the best of our recollection, but has since been revealed via the company’s website. However, since previous Nvidia GPUs were able to run earlier versions of DLSS, why can’t they run DLSS 3? As it turns out, they probably can—just not very well.

Netflix has come a long way since it first began shipping DVDs in paper sleeves. The subscription streaming service announced yesterday that it’s digging its heels into the video games industry by establishing its very own games studio.The internal studio is in Helsinki, Finland and is headed by former Zynga and Electronic Arts executive Marko Lastikka.

Valve has announced that the Steam Deck is now available without a reservation. It’s not shipping immediately, but you can have one in your hands in just a week or two. That’s a far sight from the months of waiting past purchasers experienced.
