Sorry, NASA Didn't Snap a Secret Doorway on Mars

Mars images can be tricky. A funkily eroded rock can look like a fish. A back-lit cliff can look like the profile of a face. Cropped photos and zoomed-in views can make tiny features seem large. The "doorway" might be completely unremarkable if the shadows happened to be falling at a different angle.

Gigabyte Launches Stealth DIY PC Kit That Hides All The Cables

If there’s one thing that unites PC builders of all stripes, it’s the difficulty of cable management. A lot of people (looks in mirror) would love to have cleaner wiring for their PC, but they feel it’s too time consuming to properly hide all those cables. Gigabyte has developed a solution to this problem in the form of a custom, “Stealth PC” kit. For now, Gigabyte is only selling these parts as a complete kit rather than individually, including the case, a custom motherboard, and a GPU. Gigabyte is only shipping an Intel motherboard for now.

With its 21.5-inch swivel touchscreen, Intel Core i3 chip and Chrome OS, this is a great home base for school, work and entertainment.
The centerpiece of the HP Chromebase is the 21.5-inch full-HD touchscreen that can tilt up 20 degrees and rotate 90 degrees. It's designed so as not to tip over accidentally and it never felt unstable. A 5-megapixel webcam is built into the display, so it's a good option for group video chats for work, school, family or friends. It even has a privacy shutter to block the camera and the microphones as well if you want.

Microsoft Teams up With Samsung to Introduce Xbox Game Streaming

Just because you haven’t yet gotten your hands on an Xbox Series S or X doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the newest games. In fact, a Samsung smart TV might be all you need. Microsoft has teamed up with the electronics manufacturer to bring Xbox game streaming straight to its TVs - no console required. It’s called Xbox TV, and it will allow anyone with a $14.99/month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription and a newer Samsung TV or monitor to stream over 100 games without an actual Xbox. Like with any other smart TV app, you’ll be able to select Xbox TV from your device’s menu. The app will then prompt you to log into your Microsoft account. From there you’ll enjoy an experience virtually identical to Xbox Cloud Gaming, which facilitates streaming via an internet browser.

The app will support Bluetooth audio input and output (for your good old Xbox banter) and will send saved data to the cloud. When it comes to controller support, you’ll get a few choices: the full range of Xbox controllers as well as Sony’s DualSense will connect to the app via Bluetooth.

TikTok Says US User Data Now Stored by Default on Oracle Servers

TikTok on Friday took another step in attempting to assuage concerns about the security of its US user data. The popular social video app said in a blog post that it's changed the default location of US user data, with "100% of US user traffic is being routed to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure."

TikTok has long faced scrutiny over national security concerns, including that the app could give the Chinese government access to US user data. In 2020, the US government under President Donald Trump ordered ByteDance, the app's Beijing-based parent company, to divest TikTok. However, the sell-off wasn't enforced by the Biden administration.

"We know we are among the most scrutinized platforms from a security standpoint, and we aim to remove any doubt about the security of US user data," wrote Albert Calamug, who works on US security public policy for TikTok, in the blog post on Friday.

Rumor: Is Google About to Kill Stadia?

Google announced Stadia in 2019, and from the start, there were concerns about the company’s commitment. Google has a reputation for neglecting and then killing services after people have become dependent on them, and Stadia seemed like a prime candidate for the Google graveyard. And now, one tracker of Google’s fickleness claims the end is nigh for Stadia.
