Ne will perform at the gala along with Chrisette Michele, Kevin Ross and Charl Brown, while Gordy will be honored with the Spirit of Hope Award by the MMRF.

Billy Joel will give his first ever performance at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on New Year's Eve. The New York native was born in the Bronx and raised in Hicksville, Long Island, but frequently visited his grandparents, who lived in the Flatbush area of Brooklyn. The show will mark Billy's first arena performance in seven years. Tickets go on sale Nov. 9 at 10 AM.

Lauren Alaina has opened up about her track "Same Day, Different Bottle," revealing that it was written about her father's fight against alcoholism. Speaking with Yahoo! Music, she says it was a tough song to write, but was ultimately therapeutic: "That song was like therapy for me. It's not easy growing up in a household with something like that," she began.

Kanye West has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges relating to an incident with a photographer at LAX airport that went down this past July. West was charged with battery and attempted grand theft for the scuffle with photographer Daniel Ramos. Reuters reports that the rapper's attorney, Blair Berk, entered the plea on West's behalf in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Alicia Keys hosted the Keep a Child Alive's 10th Annual Black Ball at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City Thursday, November 7. The event raises money to help HIV-infected children and their familes cope with the disease. "I'm in awe of how @keepachildalive has been saving lives for 10 years!! Sara Evans has put the finishing touches on her seventh studio album, which is slated for a release sometime early next year. "I feel great about it," Evans told Billboard. "We have four amazing songs that I would have cut at the beginning of the project. We waited, and kept looking until the label insisted that we go in."

A Blink-182 fan fell from the balcony at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on Nov. 7. TMZ reports that the fan survived, but fell "face first" onto the ground from the 15 to 20-foot balcony. A witness told the website that the impact of the incident made the "gnarliest splat on the ground . . . I can still hear the sound. It was awful."

A drum clinic in Brazil, featuring Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith, quickly turned ugly after the drummer pretended to wipe his behind with a soccer jersey. A video of the incident, which first appeared at TMZ, featured Smith addressing the crowd when he opens a present to reveal a replica jersey for Flamengo, Brazil's most popular soccer club.
