    Hi pipmagnet,

There are two suggestions that I think would make this forum user friendly - first is a forum related "how to" section. Here we can teach members a default method to share things like charts, word docs, links, pdf's ect. We could also have quick videos to show people how to use the features of the different platforms - loading indicators, scripts, EA's - shortcuts for managing trades ect.
It is really good idea. I am proposing the name for this new section ... something as HowToBasic ... or How To Basic. It will be related to whole thew forum, or for trading forum only?

Because whole the forum consists of two forums: trading forum and fine arts forum. And later on - we will have travel forum/section and more.

So, this 'How To Basic' section may be related for whole this forum, right?

The second is to have a guest speaker once a month to share their method, ideas, tip and tricks. We can also open the door for sellers to post their wares here ONLY if they would be willing to do a simple live Q+A so members could get a sense of who the vendor is before buying.
I did not understand the second idea sorry (did not get it). You mean - chat, or commercial section? Commercial section may be better than chat because we (moderators/admins) can not control chats ...

Hello newdiital and thanks for your response,

the how to forum could relate to the entire forum. Here are some examples of the topics that would pertain to both group:

1 - I want to post a picture of my chart with the best resolution possible. How do i go about it? What program/links should I use to capture this pic and share in the forum? If we all use the same protocol it will make for a clean uniform look and give everyone a quality experience. You (the moderators) can choose the methods, tools, links, and instructions that all in the forum would follow.

2 - I have an ebook I would like to share - what is the best way to do it?

3 - I want to share some music I listen to when trading or and audio lecture about trading - what is the forum approved way to do this?

4 - I have a trading program/system that I purchased - what is the approved way to post to the forum

5 - How can I post a video to the site? - which method, resolution, software would you suggest ? - can I post a video you can click on and have start instantly, or would the forum prefer a link?

I think you get the idea. The how to can have two sub-forums - one for art/music - the other for forex - many of the "how to's" would involve both forums - posting pics, docs, likks to other sites ect. Some of the "how to's" would relate to forex only - how to load indicators, placing pending orders, working with scripts ext.

Touch base when you can and thanks again for your response.

    Hello Newdigital,

As for the second part of my suggestion it would work like this......... If someone has a product (for either forum) that they want to promote on this site they should be required to hold a Q+A session about the product/service in question - if they are not willing to do so then they will not be allowed to post their info on our forum.

The Q+A can be done easily through skype at no cost to the vendor. This will give mambers of the site a chance to speak with vendor befor making purchase and it will dramatically cut down on the amount of spam like postings we receive from "faceless" sellers.

This is a very different approach but why not be different - shake things up a bit and create a solid reputation for the forum in general - just because it hasn't been done before doesn't mean it won't work. The extra benefit of this will be drive interest to the site when word gets around that Russ Horn (just an example) or any of the other forex vendors will be hosting a live Q+A hosted by us would give to forum some good word of mouth publicity. This is just a rough idea and I know someone may have a smarter way of doing it but i just want to get the creative juices flowing for this new forum. We could really do some nice things here.

As for a guest pseaker we could pre screen our members to see how many would attend a live session with a well known guest speaker -- example -->> fx bootcamp founder Wayne Mcdowell (just and example) or candletick guru - Stephen Bigelow ( again, just an example) or Nikos from Spartan Trader -- or any of the owners of the different signal selling services. You get the idea. Many of the guys (and girls) love to get in front of a new group to answer questions and look for new customers.

Hope this makes it better to understand. Upward and onward !!

    Be well

    Hello newdigital,

here is a real life example of why we need a how to forum - I have a pdf -> How to set sound alerts in MT4 - but I don't know how to post it to the forum in a way that all in the forum can access. This would be a good test for creating a uniform method that all could follow.

    Thanks in advance

Not a problem with the images. We are having good tool for that + we are having image resizer (for the images uploaded to the forum + for external images). Images can be uploaded by small size, big size or original size. Original size images are resized automatically based on your brawser width.

Suggestions to forum admins thread is here.
    - how to upload the images to the forum - see this post.
    - how to upload video to the forum - see this post.

If you will have any problem so let me know here.

2 - I have an ebook I would like to share - what is the best way to do it?
how many Mb? because we are having maximum file-size for every attachment type ... it depends on how many Mb ...

We are allowing external links on the forum - example is on this thread : the member is uploading the articles in the way of small review, and full the articles are hosted on their website. So, you can do the same with ebooks - one thread per all your ebooks, every post on the thread as a review concerning what this ebook is about - and your link to download or whatever in the end of every post, next ebook - next post ... same as here: Metatrader 5 for MQL5 articles preview.

Or upload ebooks directly to the forum but I am not sure about file size ...

But please note - if ebooks are commercial ones so it is better to make just review of them with the link to original website where the members can buy them.

3 - I want to share some music I listen to when trading or and audio lecture about trading - what is the forum approved way to do this?
We are having the section for music here http://newdigital-world.com/music/

You can place youtube links for example - just copy-paste the link and our forum addon will transfer it to yourtube video. It is related to the other music/video websites too. Example - this link:

    Read more here:
how to upload video to the forum - see this post

4 - I have a trading program/system that I purchased - what is the approved way to post to the forum
I have no idea for now ... because if it is commercial products and it will be going to be disclosed by you so ... I do not think it is possible.

You can wrire review on our forum about their commercial products with the link to their original website. On this way -

    • you will not disclose anything,
    • and their websites will be promoted on our forum (for free),
    • and our forum members will get your review

5 - How can I post a video to the site? - which method, resolution, software would you suggest ? - can I post a video you can click on and have start instantly, or would the forum prefer a link?
I replied about it on this post. Of course, you can upload video files too but it depends on file sizes of the video.

    Suggestions to forum admins-video.png

But it is much easy to upload the video from youtube - because you do not need to press any button in this case. You just post the link of yourtube video inside your post.

Yes, I understand it now. I will try to open few threads in HowTo section about howto ... (about how to upload the images, videos and so on).

If something will be going wrong so we will correct it on the way ... or create special commercial section for something and so on.

    This is easy:

    create the thread
write some text (your review or whatever)
attach pdf file to the post (press 'Manage Attachments" button in the end of the post)

If something will be going wrong so you can ask here.

And I will write some instructive threads in HowToBasic section concerning how to upload the images, pdf files and so on.

    =======

By the way, preferable image format is png (portable networks graphics format) but you can upload the imges with the other formates too.
