Germany's consumer price inflation unexpectedly slowed in June from a record high as the government took measures to reduce the burden of soaring energy prices on households and to reduce fuel consumption. Consumer price inflation eased to 7.6 percent in June from 7.9 percent in May, preliminary data from Destatis showed on Wednesday. The consumer price index edged up 0.1 percent in June from May. The harmonized index of consumer prices fell 0.1 percent month-on-month in June, in contrast to the 1.1 percent increase in May.
