Red Hot Chili Peppers paid homage to their fellow Los Angeles contemporaries, by covering one of their tunes. At the Chicago Lollapalooza festival, Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer performed a solo rendition of "I Would For You" before segueing into their own hit "Under the Bridge." Jane's Addiction first released "I Would For You" off of their eponymous live album.

Jane's Addiction lead singer Perry Farrell conceived and created the Lollapalooza festival in 1991. The festival has primarily been an alternative rock festival, but has also featured punk, metal, hip-hop acts, among other genres.
