Sorry for my late reply, I have been busy with some personal stuff.

I don't understand your question, because the idea of smoothing I think more rounded averages when is exact the opposite.
Here is an example what I'm trying to say using a lsma for example.

Hi tony_yiqi,

It can happen because the StepMA finds the largest/lowest HiLo range on all chart history to calculate the step sizes. To avoid this issue I suggest to use it with the constant step sizes.
