After reaching an alimony agreement with his ex-wife, Amber, Neal Schon is now bringing a lawsuit against her mother, Judy Kozan, whom Schon has accused of defamation. He's seeking $75,000 in damages. The Journey fronter says that Kozan "attacked and harassed" him, publishing a 2007 blog post in which she accused him of letting the couple's girls "go homeless" . . .

Bobbie Smith, the original lead singer of the Spinners, has passed away at the age of 76, following complications from pneumonia related to a lung cancer diagnosis he was given in November. Smith's voice can be heard on the band's first hit, "That's What Girls Are Made For." Other hits included "It's a Shame," and "Could It Be I'm Falling in Love."

LL Cool J has released "We Came to Party," the latest single from his upcoming album, Authentic Hip-Hop. The track, produced by Fatman Scoop, features a verse from Snoop Dogg. According to Idolator, the song "brings to mind late-90s club rap gems like DMX's "Party Up" or DJ Kool's "Let Me Clear My Throat."

Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd has opened up on his forthcoming new solo release and book. The singer is hard at work while the rest of his band is taking a break, and he jokes with Billboard that fans should expect immediate euphoria upon hearing the new tracks. "It's awesome," Boyd says. "When you hear it, you'll probably be reminded of sailors riding unicorns."

The lineup for this summer's Johnny Cash Music Festival has been announced. The third annual event is set for August 17 at Arkansas State University's Convocation Center in Jonesboro.
