The film, directed by John Anderson, chronicles the history of blues in the city during the 50s and 60s. According to a presser, the doc features "a uniquely musical passing of the torch."

Chvrches have revealed details on their forthcoming sophomore album Every Open Eye, set to be released September 25. "You come to it with a lot of anticipation," instrumentalist Iain Cook told NME. "It felt like for the longest time while we were on tour we were feeling the pull to get back into the studio. It just poured out of us."

Bobbi Kristina Brown died over the weekend, months after she was found unconscious in her tub on January 31. She had been on life support since the incident, during which, her family says she suffered irreversible brain damage. "She is finally at peace in the arms of God," her family told NBC in a statement. "We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love . . ."

The jacket worn by Ringo Starr in the Beatles's film Help! sold for $46,500 at Boston's RR Auction over the weekend. The double-breasted black wool number went to an unnamed "top rock 'n' roll collector in Rhode Island." According to the seller, the jacket features soft gray vertical line patterns and a keystone layout of six black buttons.

Joe Jackson, the father of the late Michael Jackson, has been hospitalized in Brazil after suffering a stroke on his 87th birthday on Saturday. Jackson is currently under observation in the intensive care unit of a Sao Paulo hospital. He posted a statement of thanks to his supporters to his website. "To my family, friends, acquaintances and fans all over the world."

Dr. Dre is prepping the release of the upcoming NWA biopic, Straight Outta Compton, according to former NWA member Ice Cube, who dished to Philly radio station Power 99. The new film, directed by F. Gary Gray, will feature a companion album of new music by Dre, added Cube. "Dre is dropping an album inspired by the Compton movie."

Jimmy Page says that he might release music he recorded with members of Yes over three decades ago. Page made the revelation to Radio.com in a recent interview, saying he was pondering releasing the tapes before the death of Yes bassist Chris Squire in June and had been meaning to reach out to Squire and his other partner in the project, Yes drummer Alan White.

In the face of recent criticisms, Roger Waters, a frequent critic Israeli policies, is clarifying his position, saying that he "hates apartheid, not Israel." Waters, an advocate of the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement, has been calling on fellow musicians to boycott Israel over its policies in the West Bank and the continued occupation.

Kurt Cobain's family, Courtney Love and Frances Bean Cobain, are urging a Seattle judge to not authorize the release of his death photos. Seattle Superior Court judge Theresa Doyle will hear arguments from both Love and daughter Frances Bean, as well as from Richard Lee, who runs a local public access television show.
