Intel Aggressively Prices Raptor Lake, Arc A770 at Innovation Event

CEO Pat Gelsinger announced pricing for its much-anticipated products on Intel’s big event (Intel Innovation), including its 13th Gen CPUs and its flagship GPU. Intel is offering extremely aggressive prices to compete with AMD on the CPU front, and with Nvidia on the GPU front—giving it a surprising advantage in its upcoming battle with the red and green teams.

Intel Arc GPU Benchmarks Imminent, New Pricing Revealed

After what has seemed like an interminable period, we will finally be getting some Intel Arc GPU benchmarks soon. Yes, we previously promised we wouldn’t be covering Arc GPUs until they launched because we were also tired of the “coming soon” announcements too. The official release date is Oct. 12, so we should see benchmarks before then.

Google's Pixel 7 Has One Fascinating Camera Feature That the iPhone Is Missing

Google's Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, announced Thursday at Google's Pixel event, both highlight improved cameras that will may hold their own against the excellent camera quality seen on Apple's iPhone 14 line. But these new Pixel phones have a neat trick up their sleeve that you won't find on iPhone. It's called Photo Unblur, and the feature could breathe new life into blurry shots you might otherwise throw away.

Report: RTX 4090 Originally Designed as 600W GPU With Samsung Silicon

As the official launch of the RTX 4090 draws near, photos of add-in board (AIB) RTX 4090 GPUs have emerged. They all share one thing in common: they are absolutely gigantic. The 4090 Founders Edition (FE) is already a substantial card, but it’s dwarfed by Nvidia’s partners’ GPUs. As it turns out, there’s a good explanation for that. According to Igor’s Lab, the AIBs were just following orders from Nvidia.

Google Announces Chromebooks Built for Cloud Gaming

Google has announced a raft of Chromebooks from companies like Lenovo and Acer that focus on something new: gaming. Google’s cloud-based operating system gained limited support for Steam earlier this year, but the hardware isn’t powerful enough to run AAA titles. That’s why the new laptops are optimized for cloud gaming services like GeForce Now, Amazon Luna, and Xbox Game Pass. Conspicuously absent is Google’s recently canceled Stadia.

Nvidia Is Testing a ‘Priority Access’ Program for RTX 4090 Founders Edition GPUs

I attempted to add an Nvidia RTX 4090 to my cart this week just out of pure curiosity. I didn’t need the card, but I wanted to see if the launch availability was better now that GPU mining is in the rearview mirror. Sadly, the situation hasn’t changed one bit from the height of the pandemic. On Best Buy, RTX 4090 GPUs went from “not available” to “out of stock” in the blink of an eye. I literally refreshed the page and they were all gone. Over on Newegg, I could add the GPU to my cart, but then mid-checkout it told me it was out of stock.

Razer Edge Cloud Gaming Handheld Launches in January

Razer teased its new gaming handheld recently, and we didn’t have to wait long for the full unveiling. At RazerCon this past weekend, the company laid out all the details for its upcoming Razer Edge gaming device, which is as much a tablet as it is a traditional handheld. The Edge will be available in Wi-Fi-only as well as 5G in partnership with Verizon, but we only know the pricing for the Wi-Fi edition: $399.99. That’s $50 more than the base price of the new Logitech G Cloud.

Apple Says Future iPhones Will Comply With EU's Universal USB-C Law

Apple on Tuesday acknowledged that it will be changing the primary cable for its iPhones in the future, though it declined to offer details. What company executives did say is that they'll comply with new European Union rules that require every new smartphone work with a common USB-C charging cable by 2024.

AMD to Ditch 12-Pin GPU Power Cable as Photos Appear of Melted RTX 4090 Adapters

GPU “Cable Gate” is an official thing now. This week a Redditor posted images of a melted 12-pin adapter cable on their Nvidia RTX 4090. The power plug on the PCB was also irreversibly damaged as well. Naturally, the Internet was outraged as this was predicted to happen before the GPUs launched. Back in September PCI-SIG issued a warning about using 12-pin power cable adapters, saying it could cause problems. Now, that has apparently happened. In the wake of this event, it’s been confirmed that AMD will not be using the new cable on its upcoming RDNA3 GPUs. This has led to a lot of questions about Nvidia’s 12-pin cable design. Now Nvidia says it’s investigating the incident.
