    China's private sector expanded at the fastest pace in four months in June on stronger increase across manufacturing and services, data from IHS Markit showed Wednesday. The Caixin composite output index rose to 53.0 in June from 52.3 in May. A score above 50 indicates expansion in the sector. Both manufacturing and services expanded further in June.

    Existing home sales in the U.S. unexpectedly decreased in the month of May, according to a report released by the National Association of Realtors on Wednesday. NAR said existing home sales fell by 0.4 percent to an annual rate of 5.43 million in May.

    Lloyd Blankfein, chief executive officer of the investment banking giant Goldman Sachs, said he is not into cryptocurrencies and was at a loss to explain why they should be successful as an asset class.
