    Producer price outputs in New Zealand were up 0.4 percent on quarter in the fourth quarter of 2019, Statistics New Zealand said on Thursday, slowing from the 1.0 percent gain in the previous three months.

    Australia's consumer confidence weakened to the lowest level in more than four years in October despite interest rate reductions, survey results from Westpac showed Wednesday. The Westpac-Melbourne Institute Index of Consumer Sentiment dropped to 92.8 in October from 98.2 in September. This was the lowest score since July 2015.

    New Zealand's central bank left its key interest rate unchanged after cutting the rate by 50 basis points in August. The Monetary Policy Committee of Reserve Bank of New Zealand headed by Adrian Orr, on Wednesday decided to hold the Official Cash Rate at 1.0 percent. The MPC observed that new information since August did not warrant a significant change to the monetary policy outlook.
