It’s happening...Take That are getting the old band back together.
The British '90s hitmakers are reuniting with Robbie Williams for a one-off virtual gig this Saturday (May 29), to sing those records that made the pop band a powerhouse.

Williams will join Howard Donald, Mark Owen and Gary Barlow from their homes for the fundraising gig, though retired former bandmate Jason Orange is absent from the lineup.
Since splitting from the band in 1995 and embarking on a solo career, Robbie has (almost) never looked back.

The “Angels” singer is recognized as the most successful British solo act in Official Albums Chart history, and has sold more than 70 million records worldwide.

A guitar that Jimi Hendrix played in the early Sixties

A guitar that Jimi Hendrix played in the early Sixties — when the guitar god was an R&B sideman and fledgling rocker based in New York City — sold at auction Saturday for $216,000, nearly four times its pre-auction estimate.

According to GWS Auctions, Hendrix began playing the Japanese sunburst electric guitar after he was discharged from the U.S. Army in 1962. “After leaving Fort Campbell Jimi moved to Clarksville, Tennessee for a short time where he played on the Chitlin’ Circuit with the likes of Wilson Pickett, Slim Harpo, Sam Cooke, Ike and Tina Turner and Jackie Wilson before moving to Harlem, New York in early 1964 where he stayed until late 1966 playing venues such as Cafe Wha and the Cheetah Club,” the auction house stated.

Why Did the Beatles Break Up?

You just never get over some break-ups, and for fans across generations, the Beatles’ split in 1970 will always be one of the hardest-to-heal musical wounds. In the latest episode of Rolling Stone Music Now, Rob Sheffield — author of Rolling Stone’s September 2020 cover story on the Beatles’ last days — joins Brittany Spanos and host Brian Hiatt to talk about the many interlocking factors that led Paul, John, George, and Ringo to call it quits (no, you can’t just blame it all on Yoko Ono). Sheffield also previews Peter Jackson’s in-the-works Beatles documentary, which the Lord of the Rings director is assembling from the extensive footage shot for 1970’s Let It Be film. Plus, Ringo Starr chimes in with his impressions of what he’s seen so far of Jackson’s project: dramatically enhanced and restored footage of the Beatles rooftop performance.

ESPN to Replace Hank Williams Theme With Little Richard

The network is once again retiring the polarizing country star’s “Are you ready for some football?” theme song. When football season returns next week, Little Richard’s 1956 hit “Rip It Up” will introduce the game, according to The Washington Post.

The new intro music will feature Richard’s voice and a new musical arrangement by the Richmond, Virginia group Butcher Brown, which plays a variety of musical styles and features a multiracial lineup of musicians. The network will likely change the “Saturday night” reference in the lyrics to one about Monday night, and Butcher Brown will sing extra vocals, though the band would not confirm this to the paper. The group’s singer and multi-instrumentalist Tennishu told the paper that the new recording would be “beautiful” and that working around Richard’s vocals would be “almost a dream come true, because that’s basically what we spend our time doing.”

    iHeartRadio Music Festival 2020

When the iHeartRadio Awards opened on Friday (Sept. 18), no one knew the evening would be rocked by the news that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had passed away. A politically loaded occurrence beyond day-to-day music news, the response was overwhelming on social media. At the same time, music fans looking to enjoy an evening of music were ready and accounted for, helping to celebrate the sounds that bring us together in the toughest times.

Jack White from The White Stripes

The staff told him that he had a call from a "third party," which turned out to be White's manager, because the White Stripes star heard about Grant's situation and asked his management to try to find him by ringing every guitar shop in the city.

"Incredible," Grant updated his GoFundMe page. "Jack White from The White Stripes got in touch this morning and decided to buy me a brand new guitar. Unbelievable. From one of the worst things to happen to one of the best. Once again, thank you for everyone's help."

Latin Grammys: Juanes, Prince Royce Salute ‘Living Legends’ Roberto Carlos and Juan Luis Guerra

Colombian rock star Juanes, Spanish singer-songwriter Natalia Jiménez and Dominican crooners Prince Royce and Leslie Grace performed three charming renditions to the show’s “living legends” Julio Iglesias, Roberto Carlos, and Juan Luis Guerra at the 2020 Latin Grammys.

Wearing a fluffy retro-like dress, Jiménez opened up with a homage of Julio Iglesias’ “Hey!,” delivering a passionate vibrato that matched hearts with the Spanish icon. Iglesias is known for his gut-wrenching romantic songs that rose to global prominence in the Sixties and Seventies, paving the way for the classic generation of romantic Latin-pop crooners of that era.
