How to get from Cancun Airport to Downtown?
Cancun Airport (CUN) is the second busiest airport in Mexico, right after Mexico City. It receives millions of domestic and international tourists every year.
The airport connects eastern Mexico with the rest of the world. It serves as the gateway to the Riviera Maya, known for its incredible cenotes, Mayan archaeological ruins and magnificent beaches, among many other attractions.
In addition, Cancun International Airport is the arrival point for travelers heading to nearby destinations such as Playa del Carmen, Cozumel, Tulum, Isla Mujeres and Chichen Itza, to name a few. Most visitors spend a few nights in Cancun before exploring other cities.
There are two main areas where most travelers look for accommodations: downtown Cancun or the Hotel Zone by the beach.

There are 3 ways to complete the 18 km transport from Cancun airport to the city center: you can take a shared minivan, a bus or a cab. All options have an average duration of 30 minutes. Fares range from MXN 98 ($4.65) to MXN 500 ($23.50).
We recommend taking the minivan for both comfort and price, especially if you are staying in Cancun's Hotel Zone. Minivan fares from Cancun airport start at 158 MXN ($7.50).
The bus is a cheaper Cancun shuttle service, for 98 MXN ($4.65), but it can only take you as far as Cancun city center. If you are heading to the beach area, you will have to take another bus or switch to a cab - it's better to take the minibus direct!
If you prefer to have your own transportation, it is best to book a private ride online in advance through BookAway . Fares for a private shuttle start at 500 MXN ($23.50), cheaper than the $30 cabs you'll find at the airport.
