T.I. Speaks On Roots Remake

T.I. says that when he was approached to star in History's Roots remake, he initially declined the role. The rapper plays the role of Cyrus, a slave fighting for freedom in the Union Army. "I was approached by my longtime partner and film producer Will Packer," T.I. tells Rolling Stone. "I instantly declined."
"The quest for truth should be a lifelong journey," he states. "From the time you're born to the time you die, you're supposed to be seeking knowledge and truth. This is a piece of it. This is a huge, huge chapter, so I think it's incredibly important."

Jerrod Niemann and Lee Brice have released a new video for their track "A Little More Love," a track written by Shane McAnally, Ross Copperman, Natalie Hemby and Kristi Neumann. After waking up on the beach and late for their flight, Niemann and Brice find a suitcase full of cash buried in the sand with a note that reads "Spread the Love."
"A Little More Love" will be featured on Niemann's upcoming debut for Curb Records.

Carrie Underwood has wrapped up her Storyteller Tour, the largest tour of her career to date. Underwood posted a montage of video highlights from the trek and shared her enthusiasm for the second leg of the tour, which kicks off this fall. "#TheStorytellerTour is the most fun we've had on tour! Looking forward to this fall . . ." she posted.
"Tonight was our last show on the 'Storyteller' tour until September. Thank you Carrie Underwood for letting us be a part of such an amazing platform," they posted. "Everyone in your crew to your dedicated fans have welcomed us with open arms. That is just a reflection of your heart and we've known it for years. We will see all of you in September!"

Dixie Chicks Begin North American Tour

The Dixie Chicks have returned to the road for the first time as headliners since 2006. The group recently kicked off their DCX MMXVI Tour in Cincinnati, Ohio at the Riverbend Music Center. The trio will visit more than 40 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada, wrapping up their road trip with a performance at the Hollywood Bowl in October. The group has toured on-and-off since 2006.
As the biggest-selling female band of all time in the U.S., the Chicks have sold more than 30 million albums worldwide.

Killers Debut New Song At Canadian Show

The Killers debuted a new song during a show - their first without bassist Mark Stoermer -- at Ontario's Caesars Windsor on Thursday night. The untitled cut saw fronter Brandon Flowers seated at the piano. Killers fan site, The Killers News, wrote that "it should be noted that this could be a cover of an obscure song."
"This was one of the songs that was on our [minds] when we were making our first record."

Britney Spears has wrapped up filming the video for "Make Me (Oooh)," her new single featuring G-Eazy. The new video was directed by David LaChapelle. Though not many details have been released regarding the new video, expect to see lots of skin, at least according to a picture Spears posted in Instagram alongside G-Eazy, in which she is wearing a barely-there outfit.
"It's very exciting," Spears told E! News. "I've been working on this project for a year and a half now, almost two years so it really means a lot to me. It's my baby. It's a little melodic, a little more not so poppy. It's kind of chill. Very chill."

AC/DC's Brian Johnson May Be Rejoining The Band Soon

AC/DC's Brian Johnson may have the chance to rejoin the band after all, according to Rolling Stone. The frontman, who has currently been replaced by Guns N' Roses Axl Rose, was first told his hearing loss was so bad he may never be able to sing again. Since then Johnson has met with ear specialist Stephen Ambrose for treatment.
"It works. It just totally works and you can't argue with that. I was really moved and amazed to be able to hear music again like I haven't heard for several years now," the singer said in a statement.

The biography titled Citizen Jack: How Jack White Built an Empire From the Blues and written by veteran music writer Nick Hasted, is due to be published in October by The Overlook Press. Third Man Records released a statement on Twitter regarding the biography.

Paul McCartney has spoken out about his unintentionally racist past. The former Beatle said when he was younger, growing up in Liverpool, he used certain words without knowing they were actual offensive to some. "When I was a kid, you were racist without knowing it," McCartney said in a recent interview with the Mail Online.
McCartney recently teamed up with Kanye West on a few songs, including "All Day," which uses the word "n****r."
