OpenAI Bought a Talk Show
OpenAI has spent the last few weeks seemingly trying to refocus on using AI for business instead of what execs dubbed "side quests," dumping its AI video generator and its plans for an adult-themed chatbot. So this week, of course, the company announced it's jumping into the media business.
OpenAI said it was acquiring Technology Business Programming Network, better known as TBPN, which runs a 3-hour show streamed on weekdays that delves into the biggest topics -- and brings in the biggest names -- in tech business.

Amazon to Show AI-Generated Product Images
Amazon is continuing to integrate AI into its online shopping experience. On Wednesday, the retail giant announced that customers in the US will see AI-generated images when they type product terms into the search bar. But these pictures are not of real-life, non-AI products available for purchase. Instead, they're meant to illustrate concepts and hone customer searches.

Gemini Is Down? 'Majority of Users' Should Be OK Now, Google Says
Gemini errors finally hit my Gemini.

I first encountered the error when I asked Gemini (through Chrome on my Mac) to analyze the contents of a PDF that I uploaded. I had the flash model selected, which I immediately knew wouldn't be the best model for the task after I hit "run." But I didn't have to wait long to fix my error, because Gemini couldn't run the task at all. It ran for a second or two before reverting me to the prompt screen. In the lower-left corner, error code 1099 popped up, too quickly for me to screenshot.
