Hi! Anyone here using an auditing windows file system?? Will companies benefit from this? I was asked to research about this fro our company. Thanks!
Not me, but my husband has a knowledge about it. Auditing a windows file system can benefit any company. It is important because it can monitor and review changes to important file system resources. But, there must be planning in the auditing process and an audit policy is needed for security. According to my husband, a software or tool is necessary for managing audits securely and to organize work flow efficiently.
Thanks for sharing what you know, bavinmoor. The research I'm doing is almost complete. Due to a tight schedule at work, I wasn't able to check on this thread for some time but no worries, I surely appreciate the effort you put in to share what you know.
Along the way, I've learned lots of things about audit management software and companies that provide this type of solution just like Verse Solution, ETQ, and Sparta. But, it's not applicable for companies/businesses that just have a few employees (say 10-12 employees). It's more of a software tool utilized by medium to large companies to ensure that everything runs in tip top shape and future errors are prevented. That's good news for most companies and their consumers alike. What I don't know as of this time is how much it would cost to run this type of software. :(happy):

It’s become depressingly common for video games to implement loot boxes as a monetization scheme, but gamers are increasingly up in arms about it. Last year, the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) pledged to investigate the use of loot boxes in games, and now we know how it’ll start. On August 7th, the FTC will hold a public workshop on loot boxes, and you’ll be able to watch it live.
No one has ever been pleased that loot boxes existed in games, but the uproar was confined to gaming communities until EA messed with Star Wars. The beta test for Star Wars Battlefront II revealed a loot box system that made hero characters incredibly costly to unlock. EA took so much heat online that it had to temporarily remove loot boxes and revamp the in-game economy.
Battlefront II isn’t alone — loot boxes are featured in games like Apex Legends, Overwatch, FIFA, and more. Some countries have taken steps to limit the use of loot boxes, which many gamers consider akin to gambling. For example, EA had to remove loot boxes from its FIFA games in Belgium.

Inflation surged by 7.5% through January 2022, the highest increase in 40 years -- and the effects of soaring prices can be felt in everyday purchases. Grocery prices are steadily rising and gas prices reached their highest recorded average of $4.25 per gallon as of Wednesday. And with Russia's invasion of Ukraine raising the threat of political and economic instability, gas prices might get even worse. At the same time, more Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck, and wages are not keeping up with inflation rates.

If you thought the future of immersive technology involved a fight between Apple, Sony, and Meta, think again. E-commerce powerhouse Amazon is preparing to enter the fray too. The company has posted several job listings looking for a wide range of senior folks to help it fulfill its mission. The positions vary in their duties but they all mention the same goal: “a magical and useful consumer product.”
The listings were first spotted by Protocol, and Amazon might have already started changing them behind the scenes to obscure its efforts.

Apple CEO Tim Cook has been talking about augmented reality and virtual reality for a long time. Now, he's starting to signal a big move from the company may be coming.
During an interview with the Chinese state-run publication the China Daily, Cook was asked about what he believed it would take for AR technology to become popular in the consumer world. In response, he repeated many things he's said before about how excited he is about AR, while noting the 14,000 ARKit-enabled apps currently in the iPhone and iPad App Store. "I think that we're still in the very early innings of how this technology will evolve," he added. "I couldn't be more excited about the opportunities we've seen in this space, and sort of stay tuned and you'll see what we have to offer."
The indirect statement marks one of the strongest signs from Apple's CEO that his company is not only working on more AR technology, a headset in particular, but that it's far enough along that he believes it's worth drawing attention to publicly.
Still, it's unclear when Apple may actually announce such a device. The company is expected to announce the device within about a year.

Twitter users may indeed soon be able to get a verification badge on their profile by paying $8 a month to sign up for the Twitter Blue subscription service, a change critics say could make it easier to spread disinformation on the social media platform. On Saturday, version notes for the latest iteration of Twitter's app for the Apple iPhone showed up in the App Store, with a What's New section that pointed to the verification feature.

The World Cup kicks off with a Group A game between host Qatar and Ecuador on Sunday. Neither team is expected to challenge the Netherlands or Senegal in the group, so a win here is key to keep any hopes alive advancing to the knock-out stage. With a population of less than 3 million, the tiny nation of Qatar is the longest shot in the group, while Ecuador and Senegal will likely battle for second place behind the Dutch favorites.
The Qatar-Ecuador game and the 2022 World Cup gets underway Sunday, Nov. 20 at 11 a.m. ET (8 a.m. PT).

Microsoft’s bid to acquire Activision Blizzard is on thin ice. Antitrust regulators from several regions have been reviewing the deal all year, and several have recently expressed concern that the acquisition could drastically reduce competition within the video game industry. With European Union watchdogs especially wary, Microsoft appears prepared to do whatever it takes to push the deal through—even if it means making concessions to Sony.

The Oscar-winning director has spent the last 25 years hearing speculation about whether there was room for Jack on Rose's makeshift raft in the 1997 movie Titanic. In other words, Leo died and the internet still isn't over it. In an interview Friday with Postmedia, which owns the Toronto Sun, Cameron said he'd worked with stunt divers and a hypothermia expert to determine whether both Rose (played by Kate Winslet) and Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) could have gotten a little more creative in their survival strategy. What's more, he's putting his findings out in a documentary.

Apple's new iPhone 14 line includes some of the biggest hardware updates made in years, including the iPhone 14 Pro's redesigned cutout for Dynamic Island's contextual notifications and an iPhone 14 Plus model. But among the changes, Apple has not yet confirmed if a rumored foldable iPhone is in development. This is particularly curious as Samsung continues to refine its foldable phone lineup with the release of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4 back in August.

As Google gears up for next month's I/O event, the company is still playing catch-up to OpenAI's ChatGPT. ChatGPT sped past Google in releasing an AI-powered chatbot to market late last year, and Google's been fumbling to counter with something as dramatic. Bard, Google's answer to ChatGPT, has proven to be mediocre by comparison. And Bing's revamped AI search, which piggybacks off of ChatGPT, is giving Google some competition in the internet search business, seeing a nearly 16% growth.
