Greg Olsen painting
Greg Olsen (born 1958 in Idaho) is a prolific Latter-day Saint artist of the late 20th and early 21st century, famous for his paintings, "Kings of Kings" and "O Jerusalem". Olsen's paintings are in at least 20 temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). Many major corporations have his work, as well as The Pentagon. Dozens of his paintings have been used in church periodicals.[original research?] Most of his pictures are of Jesus Christ or depict Mormon art based on the Book of Mormon or Latter-day Saint history.
"From an early age I have always been fascinated by paintings that create mood, emotion and atmosphere; especially those paintings that lift me and transport me to some far off place. These are the elements I strive to create in my paintings. My paintings in many ways record what is most important to me: my feelings and experiences with family and friends along with the spiritual aspects of my life. My hope is that in these images you will find something familiar, something which will resonate and remind you of what is important in your own life." - Greg Olsen

Benjamin Wu
(Chinese b.1961)
Benjamin Wu was born in a small village outside of Guangzhou, China in 1961 to a hard working family of very modest means. His father envisioned for his children something beyond the every day life in rural China. He wanted his son to go to the university and study science. Benjamin had different thoughts, however, knowing at a young age that he wanted to be an artist.
At age 16, he passed a tough exam that gained him admission to the Guangzhou Fine Art Institute. He was 1 among 13 people selected for the oil painting class. He spent seven years at the institute from 1978 to 1985, with his final year as a teacher. He accredits a strict regimen at the beginning, forming the basis for his success in painting. Composition was strongly stressed, with elements such as color and light coming later.
In 1986, Benjamin managed to make the cut into another prestigious art school, which brought him to America. Settling in San Francisco, he tackled English classes on the side in addition to the curriculum at the Academy of Art College, earning a Masters of Fine Art degree in 1991. Since then he has been working in commercial art, illustration and fine art.
The figure and still life are strong themes in his painting. Traveling back to China often, his paintings often depict rural villages and a life that is slowly disappearing. He has been captivated with the western history of America, painting the cowboys on a cattle ranch that a friend owns in central California. Benjamin is after the dramatic – the poetic- and he attempts to bring it to life at his easel, whether he is painting figures, landscapes or still life arrangements. He reaches into his past formal training, and then reaches into himself to find the emotion, the details and the elements of storytelling before the art expression truly becomes his own.
Benjamin Wu’s exquisite paintings have won awards in exhibitions and competitions. In 2006, he received the Merit Award for portrait and Figurative at the Asian Art Exhibition in Tokyo. In 2007, he received another Merit Award for still life at the Salon International 2007 San Antonio, Texas. Benjamin Wu also has three paintings selected as finalists in the International ARC Salon. He is a member of Oil Painters of America

Sabir and Svetlana Gadzhiev painting
Sabir and Svetlana are married. Sabir was born in 1967 in the Ukraine, and Svetlana was born in 1963 in Russia. They were students together at the Repin Fine Art Academy in St Petersburg from which they graduated in 1993.
Sabir & Svetlana are unusual artists since they both work together on every painting. They share a common artistic vision so it is not possible to identify who has done which part of any painting, or who has been the primary inspiration. They are totally integrated and seamless in their approach, submerging their individual identities in a unique creative fusion.
In their work they explore unexpected combinations of oil and watercolour as they build up complex layers of paint and other materials to create vivid, highly structured paintings.
Their work has been exhibited in galleries in Russia, Latvia, Poland, the USA and the UK.

Omar Ortiz painting
Omar Ortiz was born in 1977 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico where he still lives. Since he was a boy he has been interested in drawing and illustration. He studied for a degree in Graphic Design, where he learned different techniques such as hand drawing, pastels, charcoal, water colors, acrylics and airbrushing.
When he finished college he decided to make a living from painting. In 2002 he attended his first oil paint classes with the artist Carmen Alarcón, who he considers his main teacher. Omar Ortiz currently works with oil painting because he considers it the noblest technique.
His work is characterized as minimalistic – hyperrealism where the human body is predominate with texture-filled backgrounds and a magical use of fabric.
Omar describes his work by saying, “Since I started painting I have always tried to represent things as real as I can. Sometimes I succeed and some others I don´t but it´s a fact that it is very difficult for me to do otherwise. I enjoy the challenge of reproducing skin tones and it´s nuances under natural light, particularly in bright conditions. I like simplicity in my pieces since I believe that excesses make us more poor rather than rich.”

Alexander Jansson was born and raised in Uppsala, Sweden. At an early age Alexander developed a huge interest for all things concerning music and art. At his early twenties Alexander moved to Gothenburg for art studies at the New Domen Artschool. After forming a studio along with some friends he tried his luck as an traditional artist.
His mystical world is full of miniature houses placed on the unlikeliest of objects as well as funny-looking characters that love jamming to music. Although his scenes are somewhat dark and mysterious,
Alexander specializes in Distortion and Mysteries in illustration, character design, concept art and graphic design, his illustrations kind of give us a warm and fuzzy feeling.

N.C. Wyeth painting
Newell Convers Wyeth (October 22, 1882 – October 19, 1945), known as N.C. Wyeth, was an American artist and illustrator. He was the pupil of artist Howard Pyle and became one of America's greatest illustrators. During his lifetime, Wyeth created over 3,000 paintings and illustrated 112 books, 25 of them for Scribner's, the Scribner Classics, which is the work for which he is best known. The first of these, Treasure Island, was one of his masterpieces and the proceeds paid for his studio. Wyeth was a realist painter just as the camera and photography began to compete with his craft. Sometimes seen as melodramatic, his illustrations were designed to be understood quickly. Wyeth, who was both a painter and an illustrator, understood the difference, and said in 1908, "Painting and illustration cannot be mixed—one cannot merge from one into the other."

Montézin was named a Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur in 1923, President of the Salon Jury in 1932, and elected at the Académie des beaux-arts in 1941. His work is part of the collections of the Kunsthalle Museum in Mannheim, Germany, the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, and the Petit-Palais Modern Art Museum in Geneva, among many others.

Jeremy Mann ~ Impressionist Figurative painter
Jeremy Mann, American painter, holds a Cum Laude BFA from Ohio University and an MFA with valedictorian honor from Academy of Art University in San Francisco. In his creative practice, Mann aims to imbue his city, San Francisco, with drama, mood, and personality. He paints his immediate surroundings with intimate, dynamic expression. A number of his compositions are inspired by wet pavement that reflects street lamps and neon signs and glitters in the rain.
Painting on medium-to-large scale wood panels, Mann utilizes a number of techniques: staining the surface, wiping away paint with solvents, and applying broad, gritty marks with an ink brayer. He paints with confidence and flair, addressing complex compositions with colors both vivid and atmospheric. Since his graduation, Mann has received attention from critics and collectors alike. His work recently graced the cover of American Art Collector magazine and has been extensively exhibited in Ohio and California.

Mark Kelso painting
Mark Kelso was born in 1967, and raised in Indianapolis, IN. During his early years, through the support of his family, he spent much of his time immersed in art and nature. From this background, Mark chose the visual arts for his career. He majored in painting at John Herron School of Art, in Indianapolis, IN, and began doing social, philosophical, and environmentally oriented subject matter in his senior year. This nature/civilization content in his work was translated to wildlife and landscape subject matter the following year, and has remained a reoccurring theme in his work over the years.
Mark is a very diverse artist. His work has run the gamut from abstraction, to photorealism, to installations. He paints and draws in numerous mediums, and is just as comfortable painting 14 x 48 foot murals as working on 5 x 7 inch panels. His subjects range from animals and landscapes, to traditional still life, figures, portraits, and toys – all or which carry an underlying thread reflecting humanities perception of the spiritual in his surroundings.
Mark’s art has been exhibited and sold globally. His paintings have sold through Christie’s auction house in London, and Bonham’s in Singapore. In the year 2000 he was selected as a featured artist for the “Beauty of Formosa” exhibition with the National Museum of Natural History in Taipei, Taiwan. In 2002 his art appeared in a special exhibition at the National Geographic Society in Washington, DC. Mark is an inductee of the International Society of Animal Artists and Artists For Conservation organizations, and has been seen in numerous magazines including Wildlife Art, US Art, Western Art Collector, Southwest Art, and Informart.
“…There’s a message within my work that I’m trying to share with the world. It’s beyond my capacity to clearly and fully express the idea verbally, but it has to do with an investigation into a concious connection with the driving force behind life. It’s a personal quest to seek out and understand my own feelings of a spiritual force that animates the universe, and then to share that experience with others through my paintings.”
Mark A. Kelso
