Led Zeppelin - Black Dog (1971)
From the album : Led Zeppelin IV

Song Trivia :
"Black Dog" is a song by English rock band Led Zeppelin, the opening track on their fourth album (1971). It was released as a single in the US and in Australia with "Misty Mountain Hop" as the B-side, reaching number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 10 in Australia.
In 2004, the song was first ranked #294 on Rolling Stone* 's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time before being ranked at #300 in 2010. Music sociologist Deena Weinstein calls "Black Dog" "one of the most instantly recognisable Led Zeppelin tracks".
The song's title is a reference to a nameless, black Labrador Retriever that wandered around the Headley Grange studios during recording. The retriever, despite his advanced age, was still sexually adventuresome, like the song's protagonist who reiterates his desperate desire for a woman's love and the happiness it provides. As Plant explained to a 1972 concert audience:
Let me tell you 'bout this poor old dog because he was a retriever in his early days, and the only thing he could ever find in his late days was his old lady who lived two houses away from where we were recording. And he used to go see the old lady quite regularly, but after he'd "boogied" and everything else he couldn't get back. And we used to carry him back.
The lyric "Eyes that shine burning red" is also reminiscent of the Black dog legend.
Plant's vocals were recorded in two takes.

Chicago - "You're Not Alone"
I see you there, a silhouette in the moonlight;
Looks like you've given up on love.
You used to be the face in the spotlight;
Now loneliness fits you like a glove.
You walk around in your cloak of darkness,
Too blind to see the light.
Your wings are broken, now your spirit can't take flight.
You're not alone, you're not alone,
While your heart's still young and free.
You're not alone, pick up the phone
And talk to me; baby, you will see
You're not alone.
Pools of sorrow and tears of joy;
There's a broken-up girl for every broken-down boy.
But you don't wanna hear it,
You like the rhythm of the blues;
Wanna be a sad story on the late-night news.
I don't mean to burst your bubble,
But the world's got troubles worse than you.
And everybody else out here gets lonely too.
You're not alone, you're not alone,
I've been waiting patiently.
No, you're not alone, pick up the phone
And talk to me, baby, you will see...
Although your heart is in pieces,
You can't find a reason to try.
You're not alone, while I'm still standing by.
You're not alone, you're not alone,
While your heart's still young and free.
You're not alone, pick up the phone
And talk to me; baby, you will see
You're not alone.

Faith Hill There You'll Be
Attachment 16974
Faith Hill has established herself as one of the music industry’s top vocalists, with a voice that is as powerful as it is recognizable. Her nineteen-year career has been highlighted by the sale of over 30 million records worldwide, during which time she has celebrated thirteen #1 singles and twenty #1 videos. She is the only female artist to have her last 3 studio albums -- 1999’s BREATHE, 2002’s CRY and 2005’s FIREFLIES -- all debut consecutively at #1 on Billboard’s Top Pop Album Chart and Country Chart. Her new single, “Come Home,” was released on November 9 and her new album is due in stores in Spring 2012. Faith is a five-time Grammy Award winner, who has also won 3 Country Music Association Awards, 12 Academy of Country Music Awards, 4 American Music Awards, and 4 People’s Choice Awards. Her marketability knows no equal. Her ability to draw television audiences nationwide is evidenced by the success of her own network television specials; 2000’s CBS Network broadcast of “FAITH!”, NBC Network’s broadcast of 2002’s “FAITH HILL: When The Lights Go Down,” 2005’s “FAITH HILL: FIREFLIES,” as well as hosting CBS’ “HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS” in 2008 and 2009. In 2008, Faith released her first Christmas album, JOY TO THE WORLD, and performed those songs with an orchestra for PBS’ Soundstage that same year. For the 4th consecutive year, Faith is once again the voice of NBC’s Sunday Night Football’s weekly show open. In 2009, when Faith performed America The Beautiful at the Super Bowl, she became the only country artist to ever perform both America The Beautiful and the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. She performed the Anthem at Super Bowl XXXIV in 2000. She has performed at every major awards show including multiple appearances at The Academy Awards, The Grammy Awards and VH1’s Divas 1999 and 2000. In 2001, Faith appeared on “America: A Tribute To Heroes,” a benefit for the rescue workers and victims of the September 11th attacks and in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina, she appeared on NBC’s “A Concert for Hurricane Relief.” Faith co-headlined 2006’s Soul2Soul II Tour, which became the highest grossing country tour of all time and the most attended of the year, in any musical genre. In fact, with the tour’s wrap taking place in 2007, Soul2Soul II Tour was and is the highest grossing multi-year North American tour in country music history. It was selected by Pollstar Magazine as the “Major Tour of 2006” over industry powerhouses including Madonna and the Rolling Stones. This tour came on the heels of 2000’s Soul2Soul Tour which was one of that year’s top grossing and most successful US tours. In 2009, Coty, Inc. debuted Faith’s first fragrance called Faith Hill Parfums. Her second fragrance, Faith Hill True, arrived in stores in the fall of 2010. Raised in Star, Mississippi, Faith moved to Nashville at the age of 19. In 1993, her debut single, “Wild One”, spent four weeks at #1 and from there she never looked back. Faith Hill has based her career on dedication, passion and commitment. Combined with her unparalleled vocal talents and style she has become a sought after entertainer and has firmly planted herself at the top of the music scene, where it’s easy to see (and hear) that she might just stay for a while. Faith is married to fellow country music superstar Tim McGraw and together they have 3 children…Gracie, Maggie & Audrey.

YouTube’s contracts with major labels Warner Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, and Universal Music Group are all about to expire, or already expired, according to reports and sources this morning. In a report late last night, the Financial Times noted that YouTube is girding for a ‘showdown’ as each of these labels are preparing to radically shift the terms of their low-paying deals.
The deals are ending ‘within months,’ which active negotiations over how to change future compensation. “Over the coming months, Universal Music Group, Sony Music and Warner Music are each due to negotiate new licensing deals with the Google-owned video platform,” the Times notes. “None of the three music companies has commented in public, but each appears keen to ‘reset’ its relationship with a service that has, to date, paid them relatively little for their content.”
Separately, Music Business Worldwide has reported that YouTube’s contract with Universal Music Group has already ended, with tense discussions happening on a floating deal.

"It's quite a collection," Ronnie Platt adds about The Prelude Implicit. "I listen to these songs now and I'm just floored that we did all of this in a month and a half. Because when I listen to these songs, it's like, to me, it sounds like it would take us six months to put all of this together."

Bobby Taylor, the veteran singer and producer who brought the Jackson 5 to Motown in the late Sixties, died Saturday morning at a hospital in Hong Kong, where he'd been living for the last several years. He was 83 and had been undergoing treatment for leukemia and tumors in his spine. "Bobby was a producer, creator and mentor to all of the greats in the early Motown days," says Suzy Michelson, a longtime family friend and fellow producer who confirmed Taylor's death to Rolling Stone.

"Bobby had a range that exceeded even Patti LaBelle," recalls Tommy Chong, who played guitar in Bobby Taylor and the Vancouvers, a Motown band famous for 1968's Number Five R&B hit "Does Your Mama Know About Me."*
"He used to do 'Danny Boy' and make everybody cry in the audience. He would hit notes that were unbelievably high and he could sound like anybody he wanted to sound like—Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Smokey [Robinson]. I've been with a lot of singers, but nothing like Bobby."
