Recently, Facebook introduced 'Deep Text' a text understanding engine that can understand with near human accuracy the textual context of several thousand posts per second, spanning more than 20 languages. The company plans to use this technology to improve user experience on its platform in several ways. Some examples include, identifying the best quality comments on a public post and improving transaction experience on the Facebook platform, including the Messenger app. At the same time, Google has announced Magenta, a project from the Google Brain team, which aims to use machine intelligence for music and art generation. Both companies are investing heavily on artificial intelligence with the aim of attracting more users and advertisers to their platforms. We believe that in the future the company that is able to better deliver AI (artificial intelligence) will lead the industry.

Looking back to 2 days ago, First Republic Bank (NYSE: FRC) priced a 2,500,000 share secondary stock offering at $71.20 per share. Buyers in that offering made a considerable investment into the company, expecting that their investment would go up over the course of time. In trading on Friday, bargain hunters could buy shares of FRC and achieve a cost basis 1.5% cheaper than those buyers, with shares changing hands as low as $70.10 per share.
