U.S. Housing Starts Rebound In February But Permits Pull Back Sharply

While the Commerce Department released a report on Thursday showing a rebound in new U.S. residential construction in the month of February, the report also showed a sharp pullback in building permits. The report said housing starts jumped by 3.0 percent to an annual rate of 1.288 million in February.

U.S. Leading Economic Index Increases More Than Expected In February
A report released by the Conference Board on Friday showed that its index of leading U.S. economic indicators climbed to its highest level in over a decade in February. The Conference Board said its leading economic index rose by 0.6 percent in February, matching the increases seen in the two previous months.

U.S. Consumer Sentiment Rebounds More Than Expected In March
After reporting a pullback in U.S. consumer sentiment in the previous month, the University of Michigan released a report on Friday showing that sentiment has rebounded by more than expected in March. The preliminary report showed that the consumer sentiment index rose to 97.6 in March after dropping to 96.3 in February.

U.S. Existing Home Sales Pull Back More Than Expected In February
Existing home sales in the U.S. saw a sharp pullback in the month of February, according to a report released by the National Association of Realtors on Wednesday. NAR said existing home sales tumbled by 3.7 percent to an annual rate of 5.48 million in February.

U.S. New Home Sales Jump To Seven-Month High In February
New home sales in the U.S. saw a substantial increase in the month of February, the Commerce Department revealed in a report on Thursday, with sales jumping to their highest level in seven months. The report said new home sales spiked by 6.1 percent to an annual rate of 592,000 in February.

U.S. Durable Goods Orders Climb 1.7% Amid Jump In Aircraft Demand
Reflecting a continued increase in demand for commercial aircraft and parts, the Commerce Department released a report on Friday showing that new orders for U.S. manufactured durable goods shot up by more than anticipated in the month of February. The report said durable goods orders jumped by 1.7 percent.

U.S. Pending Home Sales Rebound Strongly In February
After reporting a steep drop in U.S. pending home sales in the previous month, the National Association of Realtors released a report on Wednesday showing that pending sales rebounded by much more than expected in the month of February. NAR said its pending home sales index spiked by 5.5 percent to 112.3 in February from 106.4 in January.

U.S. GDP Growth Upwardly Revised More Than Expected In Q4

Gross domestic product in the U.S. increased by more than previously estimated in the fourth quarter of 2016, according to a report released by the Commerce Department on Thursday. The report said real GDP climbed by 2.1 percent in the fourth quarter compared to the previously reported 1.9 percent increase.

U.S. Weekly Jobless Claims Edge Down To 258,000
While the Labor Department released a report on Thursday showing a modest drop in first-time claims for U.S. unemployment benefits in the week ended March 25th, claims still came in above economist estimates. The report said initial jobless claims edged down to 258,000, a decrease of 3,000 from the previous week's revised level of 261,000.
