Jobless Claims Unexpectedly Dip
The number of people filing first time unemployment benefits unexpected dipped last week, according to new government statistics released on Thursday. The U.S. Labor Department revealed that initial jobless claims came in at 264,000 for the week ended June 4. This was down 4,000 from the previous week's revised level of 268,000.

Business inventories in the U.S. saw a slight uptick in the month of April, the Commerce Department revealed in a report released on Tuesday. The report said business inventories inched up by 0.1 percent in April after rising by a downwardly revised 0.3 percent in March.

U.S. Existing Home Sales Climb To Highest Level Since 2007
Existing home sales in the U.S. sprang to their highest level in over nine years in the month of May, the National Association of Realtors revealed in a report on Wednesday. NAR said existing home sales rose by 1.8 percent to an annual rate of 5.53 million in May from a downwardly revised 5.43 million in April.

U.S. New Home Sales Pull Back Off Eight-Year High In May
On the heels of a sharp jump in the previous month, new home sales in the U.S. pulled back in the month of May, the Commerce Department revealed in a report on Thursday. The report said new home sales fell by 6.0 percent to an annual rate of 551,000 in May.
