Liliana Gelman
Lili Gelman is an Argentinian photographer. After graduating in Architecture from the University of Buenos Aires, she worked as a designer while also attending research seminars about the significance and effects of image making. In 1998, she began to explore the use of photography as a means of artistic expression.
Birds is a series belonging to larger body of work about the natural world in which we live. The subjects are explored through a particular style where the photographer plays with the subject’s exposure to create certain patterns, which become a dialogue between the visual and the fading.
Lili Gelman’s work has been published in catalogues, magazines as well as book covers. Various works have also been included in private collections in Argentina, Brazil, and Israel including the National Maritime Museum, as well as collections in the U.S.A. She has exhibited worldwide taking part in group as well as solo shows. After living in Haifa in Israel for 6 years, she decided to return to Buenos Aires in 2008, where she now teaches Visual Arts and Communications.

"I believe in love. I believe that love is more than a feeling. I believe that love in it's purest form is a choice. I believe in marriage. I believe that your spouse is the single most important relationship in your life that will determine whether you become everything that you were designed to be."

Attachment 6151Quote:
I am a photographer and graphic designer here in San Diego. I take my camera with me every day when I walk my dog, Cooper, and in my neighborhood, the animals reign supreme. They’re everywhere, and they make great photographic subjects. Tails from the Fishbowl started with one or two window shots, first an orange tabby, then some kind of terrier mutt, sitting behind glass. Suddenly I was seeing animals in windows all over the place, and the collection kept growing. I shot any and every animal I came across who happened to be sitting in a window. They reminded of fish, each behind glass in their own little “bowl”. When you see so many of these scenes together, it starts to tell a “tale” about our relationship with the animals we share our homes with.
