Huang Zhong Yang painting
In 1949, Zhong-Yang Huang was born in Guangzhou, China. From the age of four, Yang's parents encouraged him to draw and paint. At the age of eight, Yang began formal training in traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy. Yang's instructors and peers were in awe of his talent even as a young boy. They believed that he would one day go on to become a great artist.
During the Cultural Revolution, the government put a halt to any individual creativity in China and many writers, artists and academics were forced to work as labourers. At 15 years old, Yang, along with his two brothers and sister, were forced to leave school and work in the fields. For ten years, Yang toiled in the fields for hours every day. Even though he was surrounded by great hardship and poverty Yang continued to paint.
At the end of the Cultural Revolution, Yang entered the Guangdong Province Art and Craft Academy where he completed his undergraduate degree. A Masters Degree followed in 1981 from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and until 1984 Yang worked at the Academy as an Instructor. In 1984, Yang had the opportunity to travel to Canada as a visiting student. Yang completed his second Masters Degree from the University of Regina, in Saskatchewan.
Yang's work is influenced by many periods of art history: the Pre Raphaelite School, the French Impressionists as well as the work of the great Dutch painter Rembrandt. Yang also has a great love for music and enjoys listening to music for inspiration.

While working with the publishing houses he continued to work on his paintings and participate in exhibitions.
In 1990 Vladimir began traveling to Europe where he earned money by painting portraits on the streets of Barcelona, Berlin, Vienna and other european cities. It is with this experience he further honed his skills in depicting the human form. Over the past fourteen years, his art has evolved into the striking figurative work he creates today. In february 2004 Vladimir has signed the long-term contract with american publishing house Soho Editions.
Leonid Afremov 1955 | Belarusian Impressionist painter

Leonid Afremov was born in city of Vitebsk in 1955. Amazingly enough Leonid was born in the same town as Marc Chagall, the famous artist who also founded the Vitebsk Art School along with Malevich Kandinsky. tried different techniques during my career, but I especially fell in love with painting with oil and pallette-knife. Every artwork is the result of long painting process; every canvas is born during the creative search; every painting is full of my inner world. Each of my paintings brings different moods, colors and emotions. I love to express the beauty, harmony and spirit of this world in my paintings. My heart is completely open to art. Thus, I enjoy creating inspired and beautiful paintings from the bottom of my soul. Each of my artworks reflects my feelings, sensitivity, passion, and the music from my soul. True art is alive and inspired by humanity. I believe that art helps us to be free from aggression and depression. Currently my art is being collected all over the world. There are many pleased collectors in the USA, Israel, Italy, France, England, Spain, Norway, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other countries. Presently it is just enough to type my name in an internet search engine to discover the value and magnificence of my Art.

The term Impressionism is derived from the title of his painting Impression, Sunrise (Impression, soleil levant).

Steve Hanks painting
Attachment 2285
Steve Hanks is recognized as one of the best watercolor artists working today. The detail, color and realism of Steve Hanks' paintings are unheard of in this difficult medium. A softly worn patterned quilt, the play of light on the thin veil of surf on sand, or the delicate expression of a child—-Steve Hanks captures these patterns of life better than anyone.
Steve Hanks was born into a military family in San Diego in 1949. His father was a highly decorated WWII Navy flyer. Hanks grew up playing tennis and surfing along the beaches of Southern California. “The ocean made a strong and lasting impression on me. It was good for the soul to be out in the water—surfing, swimming, or simply getting in touch with its mysterious power.”
The family was transferred to New Mexico when Steve was a junior. After high school he attended the Academy of Fine Arts in San Francisco, earning excellent marks in commercial art and figure drawing. He transferred to the California College of Arts and Crafts, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
Steve Hanks took a job as a caretaker at a Campfire Girl’s camp near Cuba, New Mexico in 1976. The pay was minimal, but the rent was free, and all during the winter months his time was his own. For the next four and a half years Hanks experimented with many media: oils, watercolor, pencil, acrylics. “If I hadn’t spent so much time perfecting my drawing skills,” he comments, “I would not be the painter I am today.” His first romantic piece, “Daisies and Lace”, was a harbinger of his developing style—it featured a lacy dress and a serene sunlit setting.
Hanks calls his style ‘emotional realism’. He often leaves the faces of his figures obscured or turned away, not only to leave the face to the imagination of the viewer but also to allow the entire figure to express the emotion. Backlighting is also a signature element of his style. “Sunlight has become one of my favorite subjects. I’m fascinated by how it filters through things, how it floods a whole room with color. Often my paintings are really more about sunlight than anything else.”
His marriage to Laura and the arrival of three children provided new inspiration for the artist. Many lovingly rendered domestic scenes were added to the portfolio during those years.
Jurors, galleries and collectors have long recognized the stature of Steve Hanks’ achievements. He received the National Watercolor Society Merit Award and the National Academy of Western Art Gold Medal, in addition to consistently appearing in the list of top ten American artists compiled by U.S. Art Magazine. Art for the Parks has honored his work with many awards since 1989.
“I’ve tried to be responsible and put positive images out into the world,” says Hanks. “I hope that my work brings comfort, pleasure and insight into people’s lives.”

Ernesto Arrisueño, Peruvian painter, was born in Lima in 1957, a time when migration to Australia was almost exclusively from Britain and Europe. In the past decade however, Australian life has been enriched by migration from many South American countries. Arrisueño studied art in Lima before completing a Bachelor of Architecture degree at Ricardo Palma University. Throughout the 1980's he exhibited widely in Peru in both individual and group exhibitions. Architectural drawing, for which he had won a number of prizes as a student, developed as a major theme in his work where figures and objects are juxtaposed with beautifully rendered building fragments. He came to Australia in 1989 and soon found success in local exhibitions. The crisp reality of Arrisueño's works creates an air of mystical calm, a world of still waters, a myriad of flowers and isolated enigmatic figures. His current work blends memories of his early years in the dry barren landscape of Peru with the new visions and traditions of his life in Australia.

PINO - Italian artist, Pino Daeni's art and canvases elicit feelings of warmth, nostalgia, love and family. His paintings are often set on vibrantly sunny beaches on the Mediterranean where he grew up. Pino (born Giuseppe Dangelico, November 8, 1939 – May 25, 2010) is noted for his exceptional ability to capture the movements and expressions of his subjects - a talent which has brought his artwork a worldwide following and private commissions to do portraits.
Trained in Italy at the Art institute of Bari, and later at Milan’s Academy of Brera, Pino perfected his skills painting nudes and figure studies heavily influenced by the Pre-Raphaelites and Macchiaioli.
After establishing himself as a successful artist in his native land, Pino immigrated to the United States, seeking more artistic freedom and opportunity. He was soon discovered by the distinguished Borghi Gallery, which gave several exhibitions for him in New York and Boston.
Early Pino artwork featured soft romantic characters mostly women dressed in flowing skirts and dresses; and these caught the attention of both Dell and Zebra Book Publishers. In 1980 Zebra commissioned him to do his first book cover; his popularity grew within the literary community and he became the artist-in-demand for Zebra, Bantam, Simon, and Schuster, Harlequin, Penquin USA and Dell. To date, Pino has illustrated 3,000 books; his style has dominated the market.
Pino’s technique, his warm and exciting colors and the subtle, but simple approach to his subject, are the reasons why Pino art, his original paintings, his hand-embellished limited edition serigraphs, and his giclées are sought-after by collectors throughout the art world.

Juan Fortuny
Attachment 2430
The name of Juan Fortuny is famous in his native Spain, and is widely known to connoisseurs of contemporary art worldwide.
A work of art signed by Fortuny is, first and foremost, a suite of details, each and every one of wich is of primary importance. A surprising and outstanding composition, fruit of long years of experirnce with colours, canvas, techniques, visits to galleries and museums.
The route that leads to Juan Fortuny today takes the traveller backwards in time, to his childhood. He was born in Badalona (Spain) a small fishing town near to Barcelona, on the 20th of April, 1939.
"I must admit that my youth was conditioned by what my parents expected of me. They wanted me to be an engineer, but I wanted to devote my life to art. But finally I ended up with 23 years old engineering." Four years later his affair with drawings, his passion, triumphed and started a new career as a painter.
Fortuny’s surrounding world, his private life, like him, is contradictory, passionate. His house reflcts on his personality. It can be completely classical, modern or even vanguardist. His home, a roomy and stately building dating back to before the Twelfth Century, is close the Montserrat Mountain, a natural park where pines and fir trees predominate. Juan Fortuny lives in constant contact with nature.
Realism is a mark of Fortuny’s work. Tidy painting, where the central theme is treated exquisitely, with care, and as if in contrast, there is the background, where the brush and stroke become freer, blending into powerful and intense chromatic abstraction.
As far as subjets go, he feels equally at ease with a floral as with a figurative subjet, with a landscape or with horses, which are his weakness. Horses galloping, horses peacefully grazing in a corral.
Fortuny has participated in exhibitions all arround the world and his work figure in very important private collections in Europe, USA, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Australia,...
John Singer Sargent
Girl Fishing 1913
Attachment 2434
John Singer Sargent (January 12, 1856 – April 14, 1925) was the most successful portrait painter of his era, as well as a gifted landscape painter and watercolorist. Sargent was born in Florence, Italy to American parents.
Sargent studied in Italy and Germany, and then in Paris under Emile Auguste Carolus-Duran.
Sargent studied with Carolus-Duran, whose influence would be pivotal, from 1874-1878. Carolus-Duran's atelier was progressive, dispensing with the traditional academic approach which required careful drawing and underpainting, in favor of the alla prima method of working directly on the canvas with a loaded brush, derived from Diego Velázquez. It was an approach which relied on the proper placement of tones of paint.
