Kylie Jenner rocked the Oscars afterparties in not one, but two, glamorous looks.

Her first Vanity Fair Oscar Party gown was a sparkling navy Ralph and Russo dress, according to Elle. She stepped onto the red (or, in this case, grey) carpet in the look alongside her sister, Kim Kardashian West.
She noted in her Instagram post that she "couldn’t really sit in this [dress] but it was worth it." Later on in the evening, she switched into a more comfortable gown that she could probably sit in. Jenner once more took to Instagram to share the bright red off-the-shoulder gown by Vivienne Westwood. She completed the look with sparkling Lorraine Schwartz diamonds and Christian Louboutin nude heels.

Billie Eilish's 'No Time to Die' Becomes Latest James Bond Theme Song to Hit Hot 100

Billie Eilish's "No Time to Die" debuts at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 (dated Feb. 29), marking the latest theme song from a James Bond film to reach the chart.

The song, released on Darkroom/Interscope Records, accompanies the movie of the same name, due in North American theaters on April 10. Daniel Craig returns in the title role for his fifth turn in the franchise.
"Time" is the highest-charting Bond theme on the Hot 100 since Adele's "Skyfall," which debuted and peaked at No. 8 in October 2012.

Eilish co-wrote "Time" with her brother Finneas, who produced it with Stephen Lipson. It also sports orchestral arrangements by Hans Zimmer and Matt Dunkley and guitars from Johnny Marr, formerly of '80s alt icons The Smiths.

"We've always wanted to write a James Bond theme song," Finneas recently told Billboard's Pop Shop Podcast. "It's a legendary franchise, so we had to convince a lot of people that we were the right choice. And then we had to write a song that everybody liked, so it was a hard-won process."

Australia’s Live Biz In Shock as Ban on Mass Gatherings Threatens ‘Collapse’

BRISBANE - Australia’s live industry is on the “brink of collapse” without immediate financial intervention from the federal government, with thousands of professionals already out of work amidst the escalating health crisis.

That’s the harsh reality for Australia’s $4 billion live entertainment space, according to the sector’s trade body, which is calling on government to provide an emergency financial safety net.

As the COVID-19 crisis shakes stock markets and changes the everyday lives of billions, Evelyn Richardson, CEO of Live Performance Australia, which counts 400-plus members, participated in an industry-wide teleconference with Paul Fletcher, Minister for Communications, Cyber Safety and the Arts.

On Tuesday morning (March 17), Richardson put forward the live industry’s troubling case, and urged leaders to make available $850 million from its multi-billion-dollar bailout and stimulus package.
Australia’s concerts space is in a state of shock, as the introduction of a strict new set of government directives spells an end to large-scale events for the immediate future.

Organized mass gatherings of 500 or more were banned across the country from Monday (March 16), with state and territory governments applying fines and even jail time to anyone who breaks those rules. That means concert promoters.

This Is Mahraganat, a Style of Egyptian Street Music

    Name: 3Phaz-02-pr-2020-billboard-1548-1585244746-1024x677.jpg
Views: 51
Size: 101.4 KB

Mahraganat has gained massive popularity across the Middle East, Europe, and the U.S., even as it’s officially been banned at home.

The reedy tones of a synthesizer bleed into the soundscape of dissonant electronics. Subsonic bass shakes the earth as metallic percussion comes down like thunder. When the storm breaks, a frantic beat kicks into gear. Live drum fills, clinking finger cymbals, and a syncopated bass drum fuel the revelry for what sounds like a wedding party teetering on the edge of doom.

This is “Procession” and “Phase #5,” back-to-back tracks off Three Phase, the debut album by Egyptian artist 3Phaz. Arriving March 27 on the Cairo-based independent record label 100Copies, the album represents the latest example of artists taking inspiration from mahraganat, a style of bombastic Egyptian street music that has gained in massive popularity across the Middle East, Europe, and the U.S., even as it’s officially been banned at home.
Mahraganat means “festivals” in Arabic (it’s also sometimes referred to as “electro shaabi”). It first emerged in the late-2000s in impoverished Cairo districts and suburbs such as Imbaba and Al-Salaam City, and it became a sensation in the wake of the 2011 revolution that overthrew recently deceased former president Hosni Mubarak. The music’s booming drums, minimalist synths and Auto-Tuned raps are now inescapable across Cairo and other parts of Egypt.

Mahraganat stars including Hamo Bika and Oka wi Ortega get hundreds of millions of views on YouTube for their hits. Other marquee performers have appeared in movies and TV commercials, their fame growing with the help of viral dance routines and flashy outfits. Driven by Egyptian rhythms and colloquial Egyptian Arabic lyrics, the music is hypnotic in its pummeling intensity, offering the perfect fuel for wedding parties, the wildest of which find young men dancing with knives and climbing on each others’ shoulders over the ear-splitting volume.

When 3Phaz (pronounced “Three Phase”) started getting into the music several years ago, he was drawn in by this thrilling intensity.

“I was exposed to it on the streets, just like most of us were,” says the mysterious producer. Maintaining anonymity, he often appears in photos dressed in a cloaklike hoodie. He granted a phone interview with Billboard on the condition that his true identity not be divulged. “I liked the extreme repetition. I liked that it was really DIY-sounding, very distorted. They didn’t really care about the mixing and the mastering of the tracks -- they just wanted to make it as loud and noisy as possible.”

On his own album, 3Phaz embraces mahraganat and other forms of Egyptian street music, specifically the instrumental varieties, driven by pounding rhythms, frantic drum fills and piercing keyboards designed to sound like a reed instrument called the mizmar. He then filters it through his own passions for techno, footwork, and experimental sound design. He made the album using material he recorded in the studio with keyboardist Andro El Hawy and drummer Tarek El Shabah, who give the album an instantly recognizable Cairo imprint even as 3Phaz delves into deeper-orbit passages of exploding drums and electronic ooze.

"The records he made, that voice, the twinkle in his eye, and our memories cannot be taken away by this disease," Brad Paisley wrote of Diffie, who died from COVID-19.

His biggest hit was the politically charged song "Al alba" ("At Dawn")

Spanish singer-songwriter Luis Eduardo Aute, whose politically charged songs became popular during Spain's transition from dictatorship to democracy, died Saturday (April 4) at the age of 76, a performing arts guild said.

The Spanish General Society of Authors and Publishers said Aute died in Madrid after a recent decline his health. Aute suffered a serious stroke in 2016 and never recovered fully.

His biggest hit was the song "Al alba" ("At Dawn"), an homage to the victims of the repression carried out during the decades-long authoritarian rule of Gen. Francisco Franco.
