Stock Market Tutorial - The Only Video You'll Ever Need
This is stock market how-to information
A variety of integration gateways to liquidity providers and stock exchanges have recently been developed for MetaTrader 5 trading platform. Using these solutions, brokers now can greatly improve their business and enter new markets. We have decided to summarize the first integration results and make a list of already working MetaTrader 5 gateways.
Liquidity Providers (ECNs)
ECNs (Electronic Communication Networks) provide liquidity when using MetaTrader 5. We have developed gateways to the most well-known providers, and any MetaTrader 5 broker can now make use of their services:
- Integral
- CitiFX Pro
- Hotspot FX
- FastMatch
- Currenex
Our gateways not only give access to liquidity providers but also provide maximum speed of executing operations. Moreover, these gateways are fairly simple and secure solutions allowing brokers to quickly connect to a provider and use its services.
Stock Exchanges
MetaTrader 5 has been developed as a multi-market platform. Nowadays, it can be used not only for arranging Forex trading but also for working on stock exchanges:
- Moscow Exchange (former RTS)
- Singapore Mercantile Exchange (SMX)
- Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX)
- Global Board of Trade (GBOT)
- BM&FBOVESPA (Brazilian stock exchange)
- Ukrainian Exchange
- Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME)
- Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE)
- Australian Securities Exchange (ASX)
- Turkish Derivatives Exchange (TURKDEX)
MetaTrader 5 platform's versatility makes it easy to expand the brokerage business and enter new markets. For example, any Forex broker can start working on a stock exchange, as well as a stock broker can launch the platform on an exchange and then enter Forex market. In any of these cases, all MetaTrader 5 technologies and services (social, mobile and algorithmic trading, as well as the market of trading robots) retain their functionality and remain attractive to traders.
The platform's features go beyond the proposed list, and the works on integration of MetaTrader 5 with other stock exchanges and liquidity providers are currently underway. Besides, Gateway API allows brokers to develop a gateway to any system or exchange on their own. Some brokers have already done that, while the proposed interfaces have greatly simplified their work. Moreover, API allows development of a hybrid ECN engine with multiple providers. That engine will act as trading server's own ECN platform.

XP Investimentos rigorously tested the terminal prior to announce the launch of the new service publicly. “For more than 10 months, MetaTrader 5 was available only to 100 users selected for beta testing of the product. Only after the final debugging of all processes, trading with MetaTrader 5 became available to all our clients” says Guilherme Benchimol CEO of XP Investimentos.

Platform diversity down under: Pepperstone set to launch MetaTrader 5
Platform diversity down under: Pepperstone set to launch MetaTrader 5
Australian Forex broker Pepperstone is building its portfolio of online trading platforms and has unveiled plans to roll out Metatrader 5. The name of MetaTrader 5 has appeared in the list of platforms supported by Pepperstone with a promise that the release is “Coming Soon”.
Such a move makes some sense when considering the more recent steps taken by Pepperstone, particularly its targeting of Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States. Earlier this year, Pepperstone opened an office in Odessa, Ukraine, and launched a dedicated Russian-language website for its services. The website is gaining more functionality and also markets the pending launch of MetaTrader 5, which is well known in Russia in contrast to its relative scarcity in other jurisdictions in which most firms have stuck firmly to the ubiquitous MetaTrader 4 platform.

Admiral Markets continues to cast its net wide, prepares to launch MetaTrader 5
Admiral Markets’ Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) licensed British operation is engaging in a degree of platform diversity, having recently made a subtle indication toward the imminent offering of the somewhat under-subscribed MetaTrader 5 platform.
The company added a ‘coming soon’ tab to its Trade Forex, CFDs, metals & more with authorized online broker - Admiral Markets website, denoting the MetaTrader 5 platform as its next addition to its range of front end systems.
In preparing to add MetaTrader 5 to its armory, Admiral Markets is making steps toward further providing platforms for all audiences, despite its London location, in which retail electronic trading companies are usually notable for their use of in-house CFD and spread betting platforms which are specifically suited to the domestic market.
Admiral Markets added Spotware Systems’ cTrader platform in May this year, which became available across Admiral Markets’ Cyprus-based business, and the company has demonstrated further efforts to diversify its offering more recently when it rebranded its British Virgin Islands registered division to MTrading, and began to offer accounts with a 1:1000 leverage ratio.

Introduction to the Double Top and Double Bottom Charting Pattern
A double top is a reversal chart pattern which is defined by a chart where a financial instrument makes a run up to a particular level, then drops back from that level, then makes a second run at that level, and then finally drops back off again.
In its most basic sense what the double top pattern is saying about supply and demand forces is that demand is out pacing supply (buyers are winning) up to the first top causing prices to rise, and then the equation flips and demand is no longer out pacing supply (sellers are winning) causing prices to fall. After then falling back the buyers make another run at the same price and then after failing to break that level for a second time, sellers take control and keep the upper hand causing prices to sell of even more dramatically after the second top than they did after the first. For double bottoms the reverse is true.
Attachment 10973
A double bottom is also a reversal pattern in the futures, forex, or stock markets which is the exact opposite of a double top. To form a double bottom a financial instrument makes a run down to a particular level, then trades up from that level then makes a second run down to at or near the same level as the first bottom, and then finally trades back up again.

Jim Rogers Says Economic Financial Predictions, Crisis on next year
Born in 1942, Jim Rogers had his first job at age five, picking up bottles at baseball games. Winning a scholarship to Yale, Rogers was coxswain on the crew. Upon graduation, he attended Balliol College at Oxford. After a stint in the army, he began work on Wall Street. He cofounded the Quantum Fund, a global-investment partnership. During the next ten years, the portfolio gained more than 4,000 percent, while the S&P rose less than 50 percent. Rogers then decided to retire-at age thirty-seven-but he did not remain idle.Continuing to manage his own portfolio, Rogers served as a professor of finance at the Columbia Univer-sity Graduate School of Business and as moderator of The Dreyfus Roundtable on WCBS and The Profit Motive on FNN. At the same time, he laid the groundwork for his lifelong dream, an around-the-world motorcycle trip: more than 100,000 miles across six continents. That journey became the subject of Rogers's first book, Investment Biker (1994), now available from Random House Trade Paperbacks. While laying plans for his Millennium Adventure 1999-2001, he continued as a media commentator at Worth, CNBC, et al., and as a sometime professor. He now contributes to Fox News, Worth, and others as he and Paige eagerly await their first child.

Introduction to Bonds (Part I)
1. Principal: This is the face value of the bond; the amount that the first bond buyer initially loaned to the company or government issuing the bond. This is also known as the par value.
2. Coupon Payment: This is the numeric amount of interest payments that are scheduled to the bondholder. For instance, if a bond pays an investor $3,000 twice per year, the coupon amount is $3,000.
3. Yield: The yield is the sum of coupon payments in a year divided by the amount paid for the year. For instance, if a bond buyer pays $100,000 for a bond, and the bond issues 2 coupon payments of $3,000 per year, the yield is 6% (2*3,000/100,000). This is also known as the bond equivalent year, or the annualized yield.
4. Maturity Date: The maturity date is the date that coupon payments will end, and the original principal will be repaid. For instance, if a bond with a principal of $100,000 and bi-annual coupon payments of $3,000 has a maturity date of January 1, 2040, that means the bond will no longer issue coupon payments, and will give the bondholder the $100,000 that was initially borrowed, on January 1 of 2040.
5. Call Date: If a bond has a call date(s), that means the government or corporation issuing the bond has the option of paying back the principal and ending coupon payments on the call date --- which is scheduled before the maturity date specified. For instance, if a bond with a maturity date of January 1, 2040 has a call date of January 1, 2027, that means the bond issuer can pay back the principal in 2027 and no longer make any have payment obligations related to the bond.
Now that we understand the basic jargon, we are one step closer to incorporating bonds into our income investment strategy, which we'll continue to focus on in this series.

-
Introduction to Bonds (Part II)
Step Coupon Bonds: These are bonds whose coupon rates increase over the duration of the bond. Often these bonds start by yielding below what similar bonds do, but end up with a higher than average yield. It should be noted that many step coupon bonds are callable, and have a call schedule that mirrors the step coupon rate schedule. In other words, instead of paying the higher interest rate when it may be due, the bond issuer has the right to call the bond (return the par value to the bondholder).
Putable Bonds: These bonds allow the bond holder to redeem them at face value pre-defined intervals. Putable bonds are basically the inverse of callable bonds. Bondholders typically pay a premium for putable bonds, which is another way of saying that the coupon rate on putable bonds is lower because of the buyer is essentially paying for a put option on the bond in addition to the bond itself.
Tax Status: Various bonds have different tax implications. For instance, many government bonds around the world allow interest-income to be tax-free, while corporate bonds are often taxed as ordinary income is (it should be noted that tax rules are subject to the jurisdiction one is in, as well as their own personal situation). When comparing bonds, understanding the tax implications can provide a complete picture on the yield that the bond will actually provide.
Survivor's Option. Survivors option bonds are those that, in the event the bondholder passes away, allows the beneficiary to inherit the bond with the option of redeeming it at par value. Bonds with a survivor's option often have many conditions -- i.e. how jointly held bonds are handled if one bondholder passes away, proof of death and inheritance rights that must be provided, time limits on providing this proof, limits the amount of the survivor's option --- and thus it is paramount for bondholders with survivor's options to read the fine print. Survivor's options are usually of interest to large estates that are handled by professional executors.

Order Flow Scalping with John Grady
Reducing trading to it's most basic fundamental level
What is happening? Why do prices fluctuate? Why should order flow play a critical role in your methodology? It's an auction. When buyers overwhelm sellers, the market goes up. When sellers overwhelm buyers, the market goes down. This is why size matters. What we're trying to do is ride the coattails of guys who move size and ride the wave created by all the small traders who pile on board and help create the domino effect.
The importance of a good DOM
Most people do not understand why order flow is important because they have never seen a good DOM.
An inside look into the world of proprietary trading firms
Explanation of how prop firms work and how they train traders.
Technical analysis vs. reading the tape
Charts only show you the past price. They do not show you how the market traded at that price. How much volume changed hands and the way that exchange affected price makes a difference if you are contemplating getting involved in that area.
Predicting the future
Believing I know where the market will be an hour from now, let alone three days from now, is believing that I know something the rest of the world does not know. If large institutions, speculators and high frequency trading programs who move thousands of contracts and actually move the market are not currently involved and showing no signs of playing the game (i.e. a slow market with very little volatility), why would I want to be involved?
Video samples showing different types of action
Would like to show a few samples of prices being hit during fast action vs. dead action. Not going to show any actual trades as I do not want it to look like I'm pitching myself or cherry picking winners. Just want to demonstrate how sometimes it's obvious that you should probably be going one way if you're contemplating an entry and other times there's simply no educated guess to be made. This is clearly seen in the order flow.
Methodology vs. psychology
Developing a winning methodology is only the first part. The next part, which is equally important, is developing a proper risk methodology and understanding your own psychology when it comes to adhering to this risk methodology.
John Grady's trading career began the same way as most. He lost money for many years by experimenting with various strategies which were based on misguided ideas about how the markets work. After multiple failures using traditional technical and fundamental analysis, he took a job as a proprietary trader for a large futures trading firm in Chicago. While trading there, he learned the importance of order flow (a.k.a. reading the tape) and he also learned why the markets behave the way they do. He currently trades for himself and he also runs an educational business which helps other traders develop scalping strategies that are based on understanding order flow.

Trading the Gold Silver Ratio
For the hard-asset enthusiast, the gold-silver ratio is part of common parlance, but for the average investor, this arcane metric is anything but well-known. This is unfortunate because there's great profit potential using a number of well-established strategies that rely on this ratio.
In a nutshell, the gold-silver ratio represents the number of silver ounces it takes to buy a single ounce of gold. It sounds simple, but this ratio is more useful than you might think. Read on to find out how you can benefit from this ratio.
How the Ratio Works
When gold trades at $500 per ounce and silver at $5, traders refer to a gold-silver ratio of 100. Today the ratio floats, as gold and silver are valued daily by market forces, but this wasn't always the case. The ratio has been permanently set at different times in history - and in different places - by governments seeking monetary stability.
Here's a thumbnail overview of that history:
- 2007 – For the year, the gold-silver ratio averaged 51.
- 1991 – When silver hit its lows, the ratio peaked at 100.
- 1980 – At the time of the last great surge in gold and silver, the ratio stood at 17.
- End of 19th Century – The nearly universal, fixed ratio of 15 came to a close with the end of the bi-metallism era.
- Roman Empire – The ratio was set at 12.
- 323 B.C. – The ratio stood at 12.5 upon the death of Alexander the Great.
These days, gold and silver trade more or less in sync, but there are periods when the ratio drops or rises to levels that could be considered statistically "extreme." These "extreme" levels create trading opportunities.
How to Trade the Gold-Silver Ratio
First off, trading the gold-silver ratio is an activity primarily undertaken by hard-asset enthusiasts like "gold bugs". Why? Because the trade is predicated on accumulating greater quantities of the metal and not on increasing dollar-value profits. Sound confusing? Let's look at an example.
The essence of trading the gold-silver ratio is to switch holdings when the ratio swings to historically determined "extremes." So, as an example:
- When a trader possesses one ounce of gold, and the ratio rises to an unprecedented 100, the trader would then sell his or her single gold ounce for 100 ounces of silver.
- When the ratio then contracted to an opposite historical "extreme" of, say, 50, the trader would then sell his or her 100 ounces for two ounces of gold.
- In this manner, the trader would continue to accumulate greater and greater quantities of metal, seeking "extreme" ratio numbers from which to trade and maximize his or her holdings.
Note that no dollar value is considered when making the trade. The relative value of the metal is considered unimportant.
For those worried about devaluation, deflation, currency replacement - and even war - the strategy makes sense. Precious metals have a proven record of maintaining their value in the face of any contingency that might threaten the worth of a nation's fiat currency.
Drawbacks of the Trade
The obvious difficulty with the trade is correctly identifying those "extreme" relative valuations between the metals. If the ratio hits 100 and you sell your gold for silver, then the ratio continues to expand, hovering for the next five years between 120 and 150, you're stuck. A new trading precedent has apparently been set, and to trade back into gold during that period would mean a contraction in your metal holdings.
What is there to do in that case? One could always continue to add to one's silver holdings and wait for a contraction in the ratio, but nothing is certain. This is the essential risk to those trading the ratio. It also points out the need to successfully monitor ratio changes over the short and medium term in order to catch the more likely "extremes" as they emerge.
Conclusion
There's an entire world of investing permutations available to the gold-silver ratio trader. What's most important is to know one's own trading personality and risk profile. For the hard-asset investor concerned with the ongoing value of his or her nation's fiat currency, the gold-silver ratio trade offers the security of knowing, at the very least, that he or she always possesses the metal.
