Microsoft Won’t Restrict DirectStorage Support to Windows 11

Microsoft appears to be bending a bit in terms of which Windows 11 features will actually be supported in Windows 10. When it announced its upcoming operating system, the company told users that Windows 11 would be required if gamers wanted to take advantage of upcoming features like DirectStorage. Microsoft has now clarified that Windows 10 gamers will get many of the advantages of DirectStorage, though certain facets of the technology will still require Windows 11.

    Microsoft's Windows 365 Cloud PC

Microsoft Windows 10 (and, come fall, Windows 11) is now accessible across your work and personal devices through the cloud, with a new Microsoft cloud service called Windows 365. The service is aimed at business users who have transitioned to a hybrid workforce and want to stream the full Windows experience (including your apps, data and settings) from either a personal or corporate PC or a phone. Dubbed "the Cloud PC," Microsoft's approach aims to allow you to move quickly between devices and pick up where you left off.
Windows 365 Cloud PC was first unveiled in July, and plans are generally available to organizations starting Aug. 2. Windows 365 Business and Enterprise Cloud plans start at $31 per user per month.

    Amazon’s New World Beta

Earlier this summer, Amazon released its MMO, New World, for beta testing. It didn’t take long for reports of failed RTX 3090 GPUs to begin popping up online. The failures were specifically concentrated in EVGA RTX 3090 GPUs. Back when Ampere launched, some wondered whether the different capacitors used on some models were a potential source of instability.

    Google's Pixel 6

Google As much as I look forward to Apple's big iPhone reveal every year, I'm more excited this year by what I'm seeing about the upcoming Pixel 6. And I've been a happy iPhone owner for years, so this feeling is coming as a surprise. In part this feeling comes from Apple's lackluster iPhone 13 upgrades. Don't get me wrong -- the iPhone 13 is impressive. Better screens? Yep. Better cameras? Yep. Longer battery life? It's there.

    Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Studios What's new on Prime Video this coming month? Well, alongside the usual roll out of movies old and new, Amazon is dropping a big one this month: Wheel of Time.
Based on the Robert Jordan series of novels and is very much a fantasy tale. Rosamund Pike plays Moraine, a member of a magician's organization. She takes five young people on an adventure around the world, believing one of them is a prophesied reincarnation of the Dragon. Big "fus ro dah" vibes here.
The first three episodes of the show drop on November 19. The remaining episodes will be released weekly after that.
