Nvidia famously “unlaunched” the much-derided RTX 4080 12GB GPU a few weeks after it was announced. Instead, it chose to only move forward with its big brother, the RTX 4080 16GB. Despite both GPUs sharing the “4080” moniker, they have drastically different specs. Nvidia had said this was the reason for the confusing unlaunching. Now it appears the GPU will be reborn as the RTX 4070 Ti, according to regulatory filings from Gigabyte, and its AD104 die has also been photographed.Gigabyte filed paperwork for its upcoming GPUs with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), as reported by Videocardz.

It looks like Intel won’t be competing head-to-head with the RTX 4090 and Radeon RX 7900 XTX anytime soon. In an interview about the company’s plans for Arc GPUs in India, its graphics chief dished on how it sees the market as a whole. In the interview, Raja Koduri, who famously left AMD to head up Intel’s nascent Visual Computing Group, said he sees midrange GPUs as the company’s future.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch returns to Disney Plus this Wednesday, as season 2 of the CGI animated series kicks off with a two-episode premiere. It brings back the genetically enhanced titular clone squad introduced in The Clone Wars' final season, after they fled the Empire and became mercenaries.
The show kicks off on Wednesday, Jan. 4, and we'll get episodes each week until March 29. Star Wars fans' Wednesdays will be packed in March, since The Mandalorian season 3 begins that month.

Nvidia announced the mobile versions of its Ada Lovelace architecture, but already the flagship RTX 4090 mobile has appeared in an online benchmark–and this time it might be just as impressive as the desktop version. In the benchmark, the mobile 4090 is actually faster than a desktop RTX 3090, if only by a hair. That’s still quite the achievement for a mobile chip, and it bodes well for the rest of the mobile lineup.
