    After reporting a bigger than expected jump in orders for U.S. manufactured durable goods in the previous month, the Commerce Department released a report on Tuesday showing durable goods orders pulled back by more than expected in January. The Commerce Department said durable goods orders plunged by 3.7 percent.

    Economists surveyed by the Brazilian central bank increased their forecasts for economic growth in 2018 for the second consecutive week, to 2.89% from 2.80% last week. For 2019, GDP growth projections remained at 3.00% for the fourth week.

    Bank of England Governor Mark Carney said bitcoin has pretty much failed as currency as its value is unstable and it cannot be a useful way to buy things. "It has pretty much failed thus far on ... the traditional aspects of money. It is not a store of value because it is all over the map. Nobody uses it as a medium of exchange," he told students at Regent's University in London.
