    Producer prices in the U.S. increased by more than expected in the month of March, according to a report released by the Labor Department on Tuesday. The Labor Department said its producer price index rose by 0.3 percent in March after edging up by 0.2 percent in February.

    Consumer sentiment in the U.S. improved by slightly less than initially estimated in the month of March, according to a report released by the University of Michigan on Thursday. The report said the consumer sentiment index for March was downwardly revised to 101.4 from the preliminary reading of 102.0.

    Consumer confidence in the U.S. unexpectedly deteriorated in the month of March, according to a report released by the Conference Board on Tuesday. The Conference Board said its consumer confidence index dipped to 127.7 in March from a downwardly revised 130.0 in February.

    Indicating an unexpected acceleration in the pace of growth in the U.S. manufacturing sector, the Institute for Supply Management released a report on Thursday showing its index of activity in the sector rose to a nearly fourteen-year high in February. The ISM said its purchasing managers index climbed to 60.8.
