China Industrial Production Climb 5.9%
Industrial production in China was up 5.9 percent on year in October, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Wednesday.

That exceeded expectation for 5.8 percent, which would have been unchanged from the September reading.
The bureau also said that retail sales climbed 8.6 percent on year - missing forecasts for a gain of 9.2 percent, which again would have been unchanged from the previous month.

China Manufacturing Sector Shrinks For First Time Since 2017

China's manufacturing activity fell in December, due to a decline in new orders, for the first time since May 2017, survey data from IHS Markit showed on Wednesday. The headline seasonally adjusted Caixin Factory Purchasing Managers' Index, or PMI, fell to 49.7 from 50.2 in November.

China GDP Grows 1.4% On Quarter In Q1
China's gross domestic product expanded a seasonally adjusted 1.4 percent on quarter in the first quarter of 2019, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Wednesday - in line with expectations and down from 1.5 percent in the three months prior.

On a yearly basis, GDP expanded 6.4 percent - unchanged from Q4 and beating forecasts for 6.3 percent.

China's manufacturing sector recovered in August largely driven by the fastest growth in production in five months, survey data from IHS Markit showed Monday. The Caixin factory Purchasing Managers' Index rose to 50.4 in August from 49.9 in July. A score above 50 indicates expansion. The official manufacturing PMI dropped to 49.5 in August from 49.7 in July.

China Inflation Accelerates On Food Prices

China inflation accelerated to the highest since 2013 on food prices, while factory gate prices eased further in September as trade disputes with the US and subdued demand weighed on the manufacturing sector. Consumer price inflation rose more-than-expected to 3 percent in September from 2.8 percent in August, data from the National Bureau of Statistics revealed Tuesday.

China's consumer price inflation accelerated to the highest since early 2012 in November as disruption to pork supply pushed up food inflation, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed Tuesday. Another report from NBS showed that producer prices declined for the fifth consecutive month in November.
