RBA Reduces Cash Rate To Record Low To Support Economy
The Reserve Bank of Australia announced Tuesday that it has opted to reduce the benchmark interest rate by a quarter-point to a new record-low to help the economy counter the impact of a fading mining boom. The Reserve Bank Board decided to cut the cash rate by 25 basis points to a record low of 2.50 percent, effective August 7. The decision was in line with expectations.
